2012–13 División De Honor Femenina De Waterpolo
The 2012–13 was the 26th season of División de Honor, the top flight women's water polo in Spain. The season comprises regular season and championship playoff. The regular season started in October 2012 and finished on May 11, 2013. Upon completion regular season, top four teams played in the championship playoff. The championship playoff began a week later with semifinals, and the final was played in late May. Sabadell Astralpool was the defending champion and successfully defended its title of the previous season after defeating CN Mataró El Tot 2–0 in the championship final. Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. Teamwork, tactical thinking and awareness are also highly important aspects. Water polo is a highly physical and demanding sport and has frequently been cited as one of the most difficult to play. Club Waterpolo Dos Hermanas, also known as Dos Hermanas Emasesa for sponsorship reasons, is a Spanish water polo club from Dos Hermanas, province of Seville established in 1993. Clara Espar
Clara Espar Llaquet (born 29 September 1994) is a Spanish water polo player who won the silver medal at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest and at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju. College career Espar attended San Jose State University, playing on the women's water polo team from 2014 to 2015. She scored 96 goals as a freshman and 94 as a sophomore being the first player in San Jose State history to score at least one goal in every single match in a season. International career In 2018 she won the gold medal at Mediterranean Games in Tarragona and the bronze at European Championship in Barcelona. María del Carmen "Maica" García Godoy (born 17 October 1990) is a Spanish water polo player, playing at the centre forward position. She is part of the Spain women's national water polo team. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she won a silver medal competing for the Spain women's national water polo team in the women's event. She is tall. She plays for the Spanish club CN Sabadell.
