2012 Minnesota House Of Representatives Election
The 2012 Minnesota House of Representatives election was held in the U.S. state of Minnesota on November 6, 2012, to elect members to the Minnesota House of Representatives, House of Representatives of the 88th Minnesota Legislature. A primary election was held in several districts on August 14, 2012. The Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) won a majority of seats, defeating the majority of the Republican Party of Minnesota. This was the first election for the Republicans since it won a majority of seats in the Minnesota House of Representatives election, 2010, 2010 election, after losing a majority to the DFL in the Minnesota House of Representatives election, 2006, 2006 election. Minnesota House Of Representatives
The Minnesota House of Representatives is the lower house of the Legislature of the U.S. state of Minnesota. There are 134 members, twice as many as the Minnesota Senate. Floor sessions are held in the north wing of the State Capitol in Saint Paul. Offices for members and staff, as well as most committee hearings, are located in the nearby State Office Building. Tom Huntley
Thomas E. Huntley (born February 10, 1938) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he represented District 7A, which includes portions of the city of Duluth in St. Louis County in the northeastern part of the state. He is a retired associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Minnesota Duluth and former director of Institutional Relations at the University's School of Medicine. Tim Sanders (politician)
Timothy A. Sanders (born 1982) is an American politician serving as the mayor of Blaine, Minnesota, since 2021 and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Steven "Steve" Smith (November 29, 1949 – c. April 7, 2014) was a Minnesota politician and a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives representing District 33A, which includes portions of Hennepin and Wright counties in the western Twin Cities metropolitan area. John Petersburg (born April 8, 1952) is an American politician serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives since 2013. Mary Sawatzky (born February 7, 1961) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives.
