2012 IRB Pacific Nations Cup
The 2012 Pacific Nations Cup rugby union tournament was held between the four national sides on the Pacific Rim: Fiji, Japan, Samoa and Tonga. Japan were the reigning champion after they defeated Fiji in the 2011 competition at Churchill Park, Lautoka. The tournament ran from 5 to 23 June 2012 with most of the matches hosted by Japan. Only the match between Tonga and Fiji was played at Churchill Park in Fiji. The tournament was a round-robin where each team plays all of the other teams once. There were four points for a win, two for a draw and none for a defeat. There were also bonus points offered with one bonus point for scoring four or more tries in a match and one bonus point for losing by 7 points or less. Samoa emerged as champions. Ken Pisi
Ken Siaosi Pisi (born 24 February 1989 in Apia, Samoa) is a former rugby union player for Northampton Saints in the Aviva Premiership and the Samoa national rugby union team. Both his brothers, Tusi Pisi and George Pisi, also are professional rugby players and went to Massey High School and played for North Harbour and in 2012 Ken joined George at Northampton Saints. While with Saints, Pisi has played in the 2014 European Rugby Challenge Cup Final where the Northampton side lifted the trophy after beating Bath Rugby 30-16 at Cardiff Arms Park. He also started as Northampton beat Saracens to win the Premiership. Wayne Barnes (born 20 April 1979) is an English international rugby union referee and barrister. He is a regular referee in the English Premiership, and has refereed games in the Heineken Cup and the European Challenge Cup. At international level, Barnes has refereed matches at the Rugby World Cup, the Six Nations, the Rugby Championship and the Pacific Nations Cup competitions.
