2012 FAI Cup Final
The 2012 FAI Cup Final was the final match of the 2012 FAI Cup, the national association football cup of the Republic of Ireland. The match took place on 4 November 2012 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Derry City and St Patrick's Athletic contested the final, in what was a re-match of the 2006 FAI Cup Final. On that occasion, Derry City won the trophy, winning 4–3 after extra time. Derry later competed in the 2008 FAI Cup Final, where they lost against Bohemians, while St Patrick's Athletic had not contested the final since the 2006 encounter. It has been 51 years since St Patrick's Athletic last won the FAI Cup. Neil Doyle was the referee, with Emmet Dynan and Robert Clark as assistants and Damien Hancock as the fourth official. 2012 FAI Cup
The 2012 FAI Senior Challenge Cup, also known as the 2012 FAI Ford Senior Cup, was the 92nd season of the national football competition of the Republic of Ireland. The winners of the competition earned spots in both the second qualifying round of the 2013-14 UEFA Europa League and the 2013 Setanta Sports Cup. A total of 40 team competed in the 2012 competition, which commenced on the weekend ending on 1 April 2012. The teams entered from the 2012 League of Ireland Premier Division and First Division received byes into the second round stage. Four non-league clubs also received byes to the second round. The remaining 12 teams entered at the first round stage. These teams are composed of the sixteen clubs, which reached the fourth round of the 2011–12 FAI Intermediate Cup. Rory Patterson
Rory Christopher Patterson (born 16 July 1984) is a Northern Irish footballer who plays as a forward for Strabane Athletic and is the club's player-manager. He also played for the Northern Ireland national team. Having played youth football for Sion Swifts, Moorfield Celtic and Townsend United, Patterson joined Rochdale in 2002 before having spells with Radcliffe Borough and Mossley. In 2005, he joined the newly formed club FC United of Manchester, where he stayed until 2008 becoming their all-time top goalscorer in the process, scoring 99 times. Ian Bermingham
Ian Bermingham (born 6 June 1989 in Dublin) is an Irish former professional footballer that played 13 seasons with League of Ireland Premier Division club, St Patricks Athletic, where he was club captain and is the all-time appearance record holder. Brendan Clarke
Brendan Clarke (born 17 September 1985 in Dublin) is an Irish football player who plays for Galway United in the League of Ireland First Division. Club career St Patrick's Athletic Clarke is a goalkeeper and played schoolboy football for local side Cherry Orchard. He is one of a handful of local players to have played for St. Pats. Clarke had an extended spell in the first team at the end of the 2004 season as regular 'keeper Chris Adamson's form dropped. Declan Devine
Declan Devine (born 15 September 1973 in Derry) is a Northern Irish football manager and former footballer who has played for and managed his hometown club Derry City in the League of Ireland Premier Division. He is the current manager of Bohemians. Playing career Devine began his career with Ipswich Town but was unable to make the breakthrough at Portman Road and returned home. Devine then plied his trade with a number of Irish League clubs as well as Derry City and won the Ulster Young Footballer of the Year Award in 1994 when playing for Roy McCreadie's Omagh Town side. Ryan McBride (15 December 1989 – 19 March 2017) was an Irish footballer who played as a defender for Derry City in the League of Ireland. Career After stints with Brandywell Harps in the Derry and District League, Institute and a trial with Gretna, McBride signed for Derry City in February 2010 and broke into the Derry side during the 2011 season. He made his debut for the senior squad against Drogheda on the first day of July 2011. Later that month he was called up to the League of Ireland XI side to take part in the 2011 Dublin Super Cup. David Gerard McDaid (born 3 December 1990) is an Irish professional footballer who plays for NIFL Premiership side Coleraine as a striker. Simon Francis Madden (born 1 May 1988) is an Irish former professional footballer who played for Leeds United, Shamrock Rovers over two spells, Darlington, Dundalk, Derry City and St Patrick's Athletic. Dermot McCaffrey (born 29 March 1986 in Omagh) is a Northern Irish association football, footballer who plays for Armagh City F.C., AArmagh City.
