Simon Madden (Irish Footballer)
Simon Francis Madden (born 1 May 1988) is an Irish former professional footballer who played for Leeds United, Shamrock Rovers over two spells, Darlington, Dundalk, Derry City and St Patrick's Athletic. Career Leeds United Born in Dublin, Madden joined Leeds United as a trainee in 2004 and became a professional in 2006. The young right back made his debut against Bury in a Football League Trophy match. The game ended in a 2–1 defeat. In April 2008, Madden had an unsuccessful trial with Cheltenham Town. A few days later, he was released from his contract with Leeds United. Shamrock Rovers He signed for Shamrock Rovers shortly after and Tallaght-based Madden made his Rovers debut against St Patrick's Athletic on 21 July 2008. The 2012 FAI Senior Challenge Cup, also known as the 2012 FAI Ford Senior Cup, was the 92nd season of the national football competition of the Republic of Ireland. The winners of the competition earned spots in both the second qualifying round of the 2013-14 UEFA Europa League and the 2013 Setanta Sports Cup. A total of 40 team competed in the 2012 competition, which commenced on the weekend ending on 1 April 2012. The teams entered from the 2012 League of Ireland Premier Division and First Division received byes into the second round stage. Four non-league clubs also received byes to the second round. Oriel Park is a UEFA Category 2 football stadium located on the Carrickmacross Road in Dundalk, Ireland. The stadium is the home ground of Dundalk Football Club and is owned and operated by the club on land that has been leased from the Casey Family Trust since 1936. Ian Foster (born 11 November 1976) is an English football coach and former professional player. He is the current England Men's U20s head coach. The 2010–11 UEFA Europa League was the second season of the UEFA Europa League, Europe's secondary club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 40th edition overall including its predecessor, the UEFA Cup.
