2012 European Pool Championships
The 2012 European Pool Championships was a professional pool tournament held 21–31 March 2012 in ''Alvisse Parc Hotel'' in Luxembourg City hosted by the European Pocket Billiard Federation (EPBF). The disciplines were played eight-ball, nine-ball, ten-ball and straight pool in the categories ''Men's'', ''Ladies'' and ''wheelchairs''. The wheelchair users played for the titles only in 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball. The most successful player was the Finnish wheelchair user Jouni Tähti who won two events, the Spaniard Francisco Díaz-Pizarro and the Austrian Mario He Mario He (Born 3 August 1993, Rankweil, Austria) is an Austrian professional pool player. Nick Van Den Berg
Nick van den Berg (born 24 May 1980) is a Dutch professional pool player. He was the runner up at the 2005 WPA World Eight-ball Championship, where he lost to Wu Chia-ching 11–5 in the final. He is a multiple time winner of events on the Euro Tour, winning 10 tournaments between 2002 and 2017, the fourth highest in the history of the tour. A six-time winner of the European Pool Championships, Van den Berg has represented Europe at the Mosconi Cup on eight occasions, winning the event on six occasions as well as tying the event in 2006. Career Van den Berg's best performance in a world championship was in 2005, where he reached the final of the WPA World Eight-ball Championship. Tomasz Kapłan (born 14 January 1984) is a Polish professional pool player. He won the 2011 European Pool Championships in the discipline of Straight pool. Ruslan Yuryevich Chinakhov (russian: Руслан Юрьевич Чинахов; born 25 January 1992) is a Russian professional primarily nine-ball pool player. Ruslan was the world nine-ball Juniors champion in 2009. Jouni Tähti (born 4 April 1968) is a Finnish disabled professional pool player. He is a five-times world champion in 9-ball wheelchair billiards, having won the competition in 2002, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013. He won the silver in 2012 and the bronze in 2014. He has achieved a medal placing in every world championship he has participated in. Daria Sirotina (born 22 June 1993) is a Russian amateur snooker and professional pool player. She won the European Ladies Team Championship, partnered with Anastasia Nechaeva, each year from 2012 to 2016. She was runner-up in the women's 2013 IBSF World Six-reds Championship, failing to score in three of the four frames in the final, losing 0–4 to Ng On-yee. Jasmin Ouschan (; born 10 January 1986) is an Austrian professional pool player from Klagenfurt, Carinthia. Her first professional competition occurred in 2002, but she did not officially become a professional member of the Women's Professional Billiards Association (WPBA) until 2007. She is currently one of the top-ranked women in the world according to the 2010 prize money list and by the WPBA rankings. At times, she has been ranked as the number one female player in the world. Nikolaos "Nick" Malai (born 9 April 1987) is an Albanian professional pool player. Malai is a former winner of an event on the Euro Tour, winning the ''2012 North Cyprus Open''. Marcus Chamat (; born 6 May 1975), is a Swedish professional eight-ball and nine-ball pool player. He was nicknamed "Napoleon" due to his personality and standing at tall. He is a two time European Pool Championships winner, and one of the most successful players on the Euro Tour, winning four events, and finishing runner-up on twice.
