2012 AFF U-16 Youth Championship
The 2012 AFF U-16 Youth Championship is an international football tournament that was held from 2 to 8 June 2012, hosted by Laos for the second time. This year's edition will feature four nations. Laos and Thailand representing the AFF and guests Australia and Japan who are invited as all four nations have qualified for the 2012 AFC U-16 Championship to be played later in the year. All four teams will play in a round robin group with the top two meeting in a final and the bottom two playing off for 3rd place. Vientiane
Vientiane ( , ; lo, ວຽງຈັນ, ''Viangchan'', ) is the capital and largest city of Laos. Vientiane is divided administratively into 9 cities with a total area of only approx. 3,920 square kilometres and is located on the banks of the Mekong, close to the Thai border. Daniel Peter De Silva (born 6 March 1997) is an Australian professional football player who plays as an attacking midfielder for Macarthur FC in the A-League. AFF U-16 Youth Championship
The AFF U-16 Championship is an annual international football competition contested by the national teams of the members of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) and occasionally invited nations from the rest of Asia. The tournament used to be played at under-17 level, however the AFF followed the lead of the Asian Football Confederation after they renamed its U-17 competition to fall in line with FIFA's naming conventions and also to reflect the age of the players at the competition. The competition was first held in 2002 and resumed in 2005.
