The 2011–12 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 (''Tunisian Professional League'') season was the 86th season of top-tier football in Tunisia. The competition began on 4 November 2011, and ended on 30 September 2012. The defending champions from the previous season are Espérance de Tunis. The Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 (; ar, الرابطة المحترفة الأولى لكرة القدم) was previously called the Tunisian National Championship between 1956 and 1994. is the top division football tournament in Tunisia under the organization of the Tunisian Football Federation. The first edition was held during the French protectorate of Tunisia, the 1907 season, under the auspices of the Federation of Union des Sociétés Françaises de Sports Athlétiques, and it was played in a knockout system, and the first official match in the history of the tournament was played on 9 June 1907. Stade Olympique Hamadi Agrebi, opened as Stade 7 November, is a multi-purpose stadium in Radès, Tunis, Tunisia about 10 kilometers south-east of downtown Tunis, in the center of the Olympic City. It is currently used mostly for football matches and it also has facilities for athletics. Stade Tunisien (; ar, الملعب التونسي) or ST is a football club from Bardo, Tunis, Tunisia. Alongside Espérance de Tunis and Club Africain it forms the group of three best teams in the capital city region. Founded in 1948, it is the successor of the football section of the defunct Association of Young Muslims of Bardo founded in 1923. The team plays in green, red and white colours, after the Bey colours, as the team was under their patronage until the Tunisian independence.
