2011–12 Oberliga Baden-Württemberg
The 2011–12 season of the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg, the highest association football league in Baden-Württemberg, was the fourth season of the league at tier five (V) of the German football league system and the 35th season overall since establishment of the league in 1978. The champions, SSV Ulm 1846, were promoted to the new Regionalliga Südwest, the bottom three teams, 1. FC Normannia Gmünd, SV Bonlanden and VfL Kirchheim/Teck, relegated to the Verbandsligas. Oberliga Baden-Württemberg
The Oberliga Baden-Württemberg is the highest association football league in the state of Baden-Württemberg and the Baden-Württemberg football league system. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, and until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier. Overview The league was formed in 1978 as the highest level of play in the state. Previous to that, the four Amateurligas Nordwürttemberg, Schwarzwald-Bodensee, Südbaden and Nordbaden formed the tier right below the 2nd Bundesliga. The Amateurligas changed their name since into Verbandsliga. The Amateurligas Nordwürttemberg and Schwarzwald-Bodensee merged to form the Verbandsliga Württemberg. Verbandsliga Baden
The Verbandsliga Nordbaden is a German amateur football division administered by the Baden Football Association, one of the 21 German state football associations. Being the top flight of the Baden state association, the Verbandsliga is currently a level 6 division of the German football league system. Overview The league was formed as Amateurliga Nordbaden in 1945 in the northern half of the then-state of Württemberg-Baden, which is now the northwestern part of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It was a feeder league to the Oberliga Süd and therefore the second tier of the football league system in the south of Germany until the inception of the 2nd Oberliga Süd in 1950. Stuttgarter Kickers II
Stuttgarter Kickers II (also known as Stuttgarter Kickers Amateure or Stuttgarter Kickers U-23) was the reserve team of German football club ''Stuttgarter Kickers''. The ''Stuttgarter Kickers II'' played in the ''Oberliga Baden-Württemberg'' beginning in 2000. Previously, the team fluctuated between the ''Landesliga'' and ''Verbandsliga Württemberg''. The team was intended to be the final step between Stuttgart's youth setup and the first team, and was usually made up of promising youngsters between the age of 18 and 23, with a few veteran players drafted in to provide experience. History The team first earned promotion to the highest league in the region, the tier three Amateurliga Nordwürttemberg, in 1969 and played there for four seasons until 1973 when it was relegated again. FC 08 Villingen
FC 08 Villingen is a German association football club based in Villingen-Schwenningen, Baden-Württemberg. The association was founded on 1 October 1908 and over time absorbed other local clubs including ''Germania'', ''Alemania'' and ''Phönix''. __TOC__ History By the mid-20s the club was playing in the highest level local league, the ''Bezirksliga Baden'', but had descended to lower level play by the early 30s. Bahlinger SC
Bahlinger SC is a German association football club from the Kaiserstuhl town of Bahlingen, Baden-Württemberg. History The club was founded 16 June 1929 as ''FC Bahlingen'' and merged with ''TV Bahlingen'' in 1946 to form the present-day side. Since the early 1960s ''BSC'' has played largely as a fourth tier amateur side. In 1969 the club advanced to third division play where they spent nine seasons until league reorganization saw them placed in the now fourth tier Amateurliga Südbaden. Kehler FV is a German association football club from the town of Kehl, Baden-Württemberg. In addition to fielding a football side, the club has departments for athletics, and badminton, as well as general fitness and recreational sport. __TOC__ History The team was established in 1907, and from 1958–1966 and 1970–1974 played in the third tier Amateurliga Südbaden. SSV Reutlingen 05 is a German association football club from Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg. History The club was founded as FC Arminia Reutlingen and was renamed SV Reutlingen 1905 in 1910. The club fused with 1. Schwimmverein 1911 to form the current side in 1938. Reutlingen became a decent regional side in the years after World War II, two second-place finishes in the Oberliga (I) in 1950 and 1955 being the highlight, and earned a place in the second tier Regionalliga Süd in 1963 when Germany's new top flight professional league, the Bundesliga, was formed. FC Astoria Walldorf is a German association football club from the town of Walldorf, Baden-Württemberg. The club is named after John Jacob Astor, who was born in Walldorf in 1763 and later emigrated to the United States where he became a successful businessman. FC Nöttingen
FC Nöttingen is a German association football club from the Nöttingen district of Remchingen, Baden-Württemberg. The footballers are part of a sports club of more than 500 members that also has departments for table tennis and an unusual sport popular locally known as Schnürles or Fussballtennis (en:football-tennis), played with a soccer ball on a tennis court. TSG Balingen
TSG Balingen is a German football club from the city of Balingen, Baden-Württemberg. With over 1,800 members, it is the largest sports club in the city and has departments for athletics, basketball, fencing, fistball, gymnastics, handball, judo, and karate, as well as various personal health oriented programs. SpVgg Neckarelz is a German association football club from the city of Neckarelz, Baden-Württemberg, playing in the Verbandsliga Baden. History The club was established in June 1921 as ''Fußballverein Neckarelz'' and was renamed ''Spielvereinigung Neckarelz'' in April 1930. The club reached its highest level of play when they advanced to the Amateurliga Nordbaden (III) in 1974.
