The 2011-2012 Elitserien was the fifth season of the Swedish bandy league Elitserien. League table The regular season started 25 October 2011 and ended 21 February 2012. Elitserien (bandy)
The Elitserien (literally, the "Elite League") ( sv, Elitserien i bandy) is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to 4,600-capacity Studenternas IP indoor stadium in 2018. Season structure During the regular season the fourteen teams play each other team at home and away - a total of 26 games per team. The top six teams directly qualify for the playoffs for the league championship, while the teams ranked from 7th to 10th enter an additional play-off to decide which teams take the other two championship play-off places. IK Sirius
IK Sirius is a Swedish bandy club located in Uppsala, currently playing in Elitserien. IK Sirius were formed in 1907 and play their home games at Studenternas Idrottsplats. History IK Sirius' first success was becoming Swedish runners-up in 1918, they followed this up by becoming Swedish champions twice in 1921 and 1922, but they then didn't have any more success in the league until 1926 where they were runners-up and they were also runners-up in 1928. In the first year of bandy league system in Sweden, 1930–31, Sirius entered in Division 1 Norra together with AIK, Hammarby IF, IF Vesta, IFK Rättvik, Skutskärs IF, SK Tirfing, and Västerås SK and finished 5th. In the 1960s the club came back as one of the strongest in the league, finishing second behind Västerås SK in 1960. Christoffer Edlund (born 3 February 1987) is a Swedish bandy player who currently plays for Villa Lidköping BK as a midfielder or forward. Career Club career Edlund is a youth product of Vetlanda BK where he remained until 2008–09. 2009–10 to 2013–14 he played for Sandvikens AIK. In 2014, Edlund joined Russian team Yenisey for one year.
