2011 Vattenfall Cyclassics
The 2011 Vattenfall Cyclassics was the 16th edition of the Vattenfall Cyclassics, a single-day cycling race. It was held on 21 August 2011, over a distance of , starting and finishing in Hamburg, Germany. It was the 22nd event of the 2011 UCI World Tour season. Fresh from his victory in the Eneco Tour a week before the Cyclassics, 's Edvald Boasson Hagen – who, in 2010, was second to Tyler Farrar, who elected to compete in the concurrent Vuelta a España in 2011 – took the victory in a sprint finish out of a large group of riders, who had broken away after a split in the field. Boasson Hagen had attacked from 250 metres out, and held off Gerald Ciolek, who took second place for , while Borut Božič completed the podium for . 2011 UCI World Tour
The 2011 UCI World Tour was the third edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The series started with the Tour Down Under's opening stage on 18 January, and consisted of 14 stage races and 13 one-day races, culminating in the Giro di Lombardia on 15 October. __TOC__ Events All 26 events from the 2010 UCI World Ranking were included, though the UCI ProTour classification of events under which 16 of these were previously promoted has now been disbanded. In addition to this, the five stage Tour of Beijing has been added to the schedule. The 18 teams that hold UCI ProTeam status are obliged to participate in all races. TF1 Group (french: Groupe TF1) is a French media holding company. Its best-known property is the broadcast network TF1. The group was formed after TF1 was privatized in April 1987. Michel Kreder (born 15 August 1987) is a Dutch former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2008 and 2019. Career Following a four-year stint with , Kreder signed with for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Grega Bole (born 13 August 1985 in Jesenice, Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian professional road bicycle racer, who most recently rode for UCI WorldTeam . His biggest victory is the 2011 GP Ouest–France, where he launched a solo attack with to go. Simon Clarke (cyclist)
Simon Clarke (born 18 July 1986) is an Australian professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He previously rode for the (2011) and (2012–2015) teams in the UCI World Tour. Before turning professional, Clarke competed in track cycling as an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. He is not related to fellow Australian cyclist and past teammate Will Clarke. Professional career At the 2012 Vuelta a España, Clarke won the fourth stage of the race, after being a part of an early breakaway that made it home on the mountainous race. José Joaquín Rojas Gil (born 8 June 1985) is a Spanish professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Rojas turned professional in 2006 with . His older brother Mariano Rojas, was a professional cyclist as well, riding for until 1996. He died in the same year as a result of a traffic accident.
