2011 Korean Tour
The 2011 Korean Tour was the 34th season on the Korean Tour, the main professional golf tour in South Korea since it was formed in 1978. OWGR inclusion In August 2010, it was announced that all Korean Tour events, beginning in 2011, would receive Official World Golf Ranking points at the minimum level of 6 points for the winner of a 72-hole event. 2011 European Tour
The 2011 European Tour was the third edition of the Race to Dubai and the 40th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The season began in December 2010 with the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa, and culminated with the Dubai World Championship the following December. The full schedule included the four major championships and four World Golf Championships. The Race to Dubai was won by Englishman Luke Donald, who also collected the Golfer of the Year award having also headed the PGA Tour money list and ascended to the top of the Official World Golf Ranking during 2011. The DB Insurance Promy Open is a professional golf tournament that takes place in South Korea sponsored by DB Insurance. Until 2017 it was called the Dongbu Insurance Promy Open. It has been held at Montvert Country Club from 2015 to 2019. Since 2014 it has been the opening event of the season, held in April. In 2010 and 2011 the event had prize money of ₩300,000,000, rising to ₩400,000,000 in 2012 and ₩500,000,000 in 2016. The event was cancelled in 2020 but returned in 2021 with prize money of ₩700,000,000 and a new venue, Oak Valley Country Club. In 2008 and 2009 Dongbu Insurance sponsored a match play event, the SBS Dongbu Insurance Matchplay Championship, the forerunner of the Munsingwear Championship which started in 2010. Kurt Barnes
Kurt Barnes (born 25 May 1981) is an Australian professional golfer. Barnes was born in Muswellbrook, New South Wales. He had a successful amateur career which included victories in the 2002 Australian Amateur, the 2003 Riversdale Cup, which he won with a record 22 under par total, and the 2003 New Zealand Amateur Stroke Play Championship. He turned professional at the end of 2003 and joined the PGA Tour of Australasia.
