2011 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy
The 2011 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy was the fourth annual international rugby union competition for Under 20 national teams, second-tier world championship. The event was organised by rugby's governing body, the International Rugby Board (IRB). Two venues were used, both located in Tbilisi. 12 of the 16 games were played at the Avchala Stadium, the other 4 games at the Shevardeni Stadium. Pool stage ''All times are local (UTC+4).'' Radu Petrescu (rugby Referee)
Radu Petrescu (born 19 April 1980) is a Romanian rugby referee who mainly referees club rugby in such tournaments as the Romanian SuperLiga. Player career Petrescu started playing rugby in 1990 with local team Grivița. At the end of his junior years he played for a short period of time for SuperLiga giants, Steaua. He ended his playing career just before moving to seniors, choosing to concentrate on his studies at the University of Bucharest. Referee career Petrescu started his refereeing career in 2000 and is considered by many one of the most valuable referees in Romanian Rugby. Petrescu refereed 3 matches at the 2011 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy in Georgia. Sa Jordan Taufua (born 29 January 1992) is a New Zealand rugby union player who plays as a loose forward. He previously played for Tasman in New Zealand's domestic Mitre 10 Cup and the in the international Super Rugby competition. Early career Born in Otahuhu, in the Auckland suburbs, Taufua was educated at Alfriston College before completing his schooling at Sacred Heart College in the city of Auckland. After finishing high school, he moved south to Christchurch to attend Lincoln University and while there he played local club rugby for them. Senior career Taufua's senior rugby career began in 2012 when he was loaned to the Tasman Mako by Canterbury before the season's commencement. Alejo Duran (rugby)
Alejandro de Vivar (1635–1660), better known as Mestizo Alejo, was a Chilean mestizo, who fought in the Arauco War. He was the son of the Mapuche cacique Curivilú and the Spanish Isabel de Vivar y Castro who was captured during a Mapuche raid. Isabel and Alejo were rescued five years later and rejoined the Spanish society. Alejo enlisted the Spanish army, but the system of castas prevented his promotion. As a result, he deserted from the Spanish army and joined the Mapuches, being appointed toqui.
