2011 FIM Motocross World Championship
The 2011 FIM Motocross World Championship was the 55th F.I.M. Motocross World Championship season. It included 30 races at 15 events including Bulgaria, The Netherlands, the United States, Brazil, France, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Latvia, Limburg, Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Europe and Italy. 2011 Calendar The 2011 calendars of the FIM Motocross World Championships promoted by Youthstream were finalised on 25 October 2010. In MX3 two final rounds of the season, originally scheduled in Geneva (Switzerland) and in Spain on 4 and 11 September were cancelled on 20 July 2011. Motocross World Championship
FIM Motocross World Championship is the premier championship of motocross racing, organized by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), divided into two distinct classes: MXGP and MX2. Race duration is 30 minutes plus two laps per race. The series runs 18 events with two races per class at each round. History The FIM Motocross World Championship is a worldwide motocross series sanctioned by the F.I.M. It was inaugurated in 1957 using a 500 cc engine displacement formula. In 1962 a 250cc class was added and in 1975, a 125cc class was introduced. Prior to 1957, the championship was known as the European Championship. In 2004, the F.I.M. changed the displacement formulas to reflect the changes in engine technology and as a move towards environmentally friendlier four-stroke engines. Águeda () is a city and a municipality in Portugal. According to the Portuguese 2011 census, the municipality of Águeda had 47,729 inhabitants, in an area of . Fermo (ancient: Firmum Picenum) is a town and ''comune'' of the Marche, Italy, in the Province of Fermo. Fermo is on a hill, the Sabulo, elevation , on a branch from Porto San Giorgio on the Adriatic coast railway. Christophe Pourcel
Christophe Pourcel (born 16 August 1988), is a French former professional motocross and supercross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships and in the AMA Motocross Championships from 2004 to 2016 and then raced his final season in the 2017 CMA Canadian motocross national championship. Known for his smooth riding style and intelligent racing tactics, Pourcel is notable for winning the 2006 FIM MX2 world championship and, for narrowly losing two consecutive AMA 250cc motocross national championships after suffering misfortune in the final rounds. Despite his smooth riding style, his motocross career was marred by numerous injuries which limited his success. Loket (Sokolov District)
Loket (; german: Elbogen) is a town of in Sokolov District in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 3,100 inhabitants. The town centre itself features Loket Castle, a 12th-century Gothic castle. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as urban monument reservation. Lommel () is a municipality and a city in the Belgian province of Limburg. The Kempen city has about 34,000 inhabitants and is part of the electoral district and the judicial district Lommel Neerpelt.
