2011 European Shield
The competition reverted to a three-team format in 2011, with most of the nations from the 2010 competition taking part in qualifying for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup. Two new teams, Malta and Norway were promoted to the competition having contested the European Bowl in 2010. The Malta national rugby league team (nicknamed the Knights) represent Malta in international rugby league football competitions. They have been competing since 2004. Norway National Rugby League Team
The Norway national rugby league team was founded in 2008. Rugby League in Norway is played through junior and amateur level. There is a small seven-team premier competition and several development cups. They are recognized by the Norwegian Rugby Federation and the Rugby League International Federation as having affiliate status. History In February 2008, Norway was granted official observer status by the Rugby League European Federation despite being unranked at that point. This was not the only major point of development in the year, as a committee was formed, based in capital city Oslo, with the aim of developing the game all over the country. The Rugby League European Championship C, formerly the European Bowl, is an international European rugby league football tournament organised by the Rugby League European Federation for third tier rugby league nations. Bislett Stadion
Bislett Stadium ( no, Bislett stadion) is a sports stadium in Oslo, Norway. Bislett is Norway's most well known sports arena internationally, with 15 speed skating world records and more than 50 track and field world records having been set here. The original stadium was demolished in 2004 and construction of a new stadium was completed by the summer of 2005. The New Bislett Stadium was designed by C.F. Møller Architects. History Bislett Stadium lies on the site of a 19th-century brick works, which was bought by the Municipality of Kristiania (Oslo) in 1898, and turned into a sports field in 1908. The merchant, speed skater, gymnast and sports organizer Martinus Lørdahl was instrumental in facilitating the construction of the first bleachers, begun in 1917 and completed in 1922 along with the new club house. Oslo

Jarrod Sammut (born 15 February 1987) is a Maltese international rugby league footballer who plays as a or for the Barrow Raiders in the BetFred Championship. He previously played as a for the Penrith Panthers in the NRL, and played for Crusaders RL, Bradford Bulls, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and the Wigan Warriors in the Super League.
