2011 Crocodile Trophy
The 2011 Crocodile Trophy was the 17th edition of the Crocodile trophy Mountain Bike stage race. The race was held from 18 October to 27 October. The race covered divided over 10 stages. Pre race favourites were the winner of last two events: Urs Huber, runner-up of the last two events and former olympic champion: Bart Brentjens and number three of the last two events: Mike Mulkens. Huber aimed to be the first rider in history to win the trophy three times in a row. Race Overview Only two of the pre race favourites would eventually start the race. Bart Brentjens pulled out of the event before the first stage due to an illness. On the first day of the Trophy it started to rain in North Queensland. The organisation decided that it was not safe for the riders to race in the heavy rain and decided to neutralize the stage. 2010 Crocodile Trophy
The 2010 Crocodile Trophy was the 16th edition of the Crocodile trophy Mountain Bike stage race. The race was held from 19 October to 28 October. The race covered divided over 10 stages. The favourites for the overall victory all finished on the podium in the 2009 edition: Urs Huber, Bart Brentjens and Mike Mulkens. The three cyclist would finish in the same order on the podium of the 2010 edition. Bart Brentjens
Bart Jan-Baptist Marie Brentjens (born 10 October 1968 in Haelen) is a Dutch racing cyclist in mountain biking. Brentjens won a gold medal for mountain biking in the 1996 Summer Olympics, the first to recognize cross-country mountain biking as an event. He followed this with bronze in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Previously he won gold at the 1995 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships. In 2007 he became 10th time Dutch National champion Brentjens competed in Men's category of the Absa Cape Epic in 2005, winning 1st place overall with team mate Roel Paulissen. In 2009 he won 2nd place overall, this time competing alongside Chris Jongewaard. Brentjens then began competing in the Master's category. He won the category in both 2012 with Jan Weevers and in 2014 with Abraao Azevedo. He has completed the marathon stage race ten times to date. Paris–Roubaix is a one-day professional bicycle road race in northern France, starting north of Paris and finishing in Roubaix, at the border with Belgium. Cairns (, ) is a city in Queensland, Australia, on the tropical north east coast of Far North Queensland.
