2011 Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup
The 2011 Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup was the first edition of the new tournament, Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup. It took place at Jumeirah Beach in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 22 to 26 November 2011. Eight teams participated in the competition. 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualification (CAF)
The 2011 CAF Beach Soccer Championship were the qualifiers for African national beach soccer teams to determine the two teams that qualify for the 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. They took place from 15–19 June 2011 at a temporary stadium at the Ain Diab beach in Casablanca, Morocco for the first time. All previous CAF qualifiers were held in Durban, South Africa. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. The rules of overtime or extra time vary between sports and even different competitions. Some may employ " sudden death", where the first player or team who scores immediately wins the game. In others, play continues until a specified time has elapsed, and only then is the winner declared. Penalty Shootout (football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any). Ilya Leonov
Ilya Yuryevich Leonov (russian: Илья Юрьевич Леонов; born 21 December 1979 in Moscow) is a retired Russian beach soccer and former futsal player. From 2010 to 2018, he played for Lokomotiv Moscow, where for a time he served both as player and coach. After his retirement as a player he is coaching the Russia women's national beach soccer team, winning with them two Euro Beach Soccer Cups in a row, and continues coaching Lokomotiv Moscow. He is Merited Master of Sports of Russia. Career Leonov made his first steps into football in the school "Timiryazevets". He debuted in professional sports for Sportakademklub Moscow. After three seasons, Leonov decided to switch to futsal by debuting for Poligran Moscow. Following two seasons in the premier league, that club gained entry to the highest national futsal league. Yuri Krasheninnikov
Yuri Yuryevich "Krash" Krasheninnikov (russian: Юрий Юрьевич Крашенинников; born 19 December 1984) is a Russian beach soccer player currently active as defender. He is Merited Master of Sports of Russia. Career Krasheninnikov graduated from the public school Nr. 453 in Vyborg Rayon. One of his first coaches was Vyacheslav Ivanovich Bulavin. He started playing for the association football club Zenit. He finished the football school Moscow Outpost, there his coach was Dmitry Yuryevich Stepannikov. Krasheninnikov played for beach soccer clubs including TIM and IBS. Since 2009, he plays for his national team, winning with them numerous trophies. Two years later he joined Lokomotiv Moscow, and since 2014 he plays for Kristall. Krasheninnikov played for the Brazilian Corinthians at the 2012 Mundialito de Clubes. Dmitry Shishin
Dmitry Vladimirovich Shishin (russian: Дмитрий Владимирович Шишин; born 14 March 1986) is a Russian beach soccer player currently active as forward, playing for the Russia national beach soccer team and BSC Kristall. Shishin is Merited Master of Sports of Russia. Career Dmitry's father Vladimir brought him to football at age seven, his first coach being Alexey Tarasov. He began his career in Sokol Saratov, then he played futsal until 2006, when he discovered beach soccer. In 2007, members of the Russian Football Union discovered the talented Shishin at the tournament "Golden Sands of Samara", and invited him to the Russia national beach soccer team. That year Shishin participated at the Russian Championship as player of Samarian Sputnik and debuted for the national team at the Beach Soccer World Cup.
