2010–11 Albanian Cup
2010–11 Albanian Cup () was the fifty-ninth season of Albania's annual cup competition. It began on 21 September 2010 with the First Preliminary Round. The winners of the competition qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Besa were the defending champions, having won their second Albanian Cup last season. The cup was won by KF Tirana. The rounds were played in a two-legged format similar to those of European competitions. If the aggregated score was tied after both games, the team with the higher number of away goals advanced. If the number of away goals was equal in both games, the match was decided by extra time and a penalty shootout, if necessary. Preliminary Tournament In order to reduce the number of participating teams for the First Round to 32, a preliminary tournament was played. KF Albpetrol Patos is an Albanian football club located in the city of Patos in Fier County. Their home ground is the Alush Noga Stadium and they currently compete in the Kategoria e Dytë. Flamurtari FC is a professional football club based in Vlorë, Albania. The club plays in the Kategoria e Parë, which is the second tier of football in the country. KF Tomori is an Albanian football club based in the city of Berat. The club's home ground is the Tomori Stadium and they currently participate in the Kategoria e Parë. History The sport of football was introduced to the city of Berat in the early 1910s by students who had completed their studies abroad. They brought back footballs and the rules of the game from their travels which they then passed onto the locals. Kategoria e Parë is the second level of professional football in Albania, behind the Kategoria Superiore and above the Kategoria e Dytë. Format Kategoria e Parë was founded in 1930. 2010–11 Kategoria Superiore
The 2010–11 Kategoria Superiore was the 72nd official season, or the 75th season of top-tier football in Albania (including three unofficial championships of WW2) and the thirteenth season under the name ''Kategoria Superiore''. The season began on 21 August 2010 and ended on 16 May 2011. Dinamo Tirana were the defending champions, having won their 18th Albanian championship last season. The championship was won by Skënderbeu, with Flamurtari and Vllaznia finishing second and third, respectively. On the bottom end of the table, Besa and Elbasani were directly relegated, while Shkumbini and Dinamo Tirana had to compete in the relegation playoffs. Teams Apolonia Fier and Gramozi were directly relegated to the Kategoria e Parë after finishing 11th and 12th in the previous year's standings. KF Sopoti is an Albanian sports club based in Librazhd. The club currently competes in the Kategoria e Dytë, the third tier of football in Albania.
