2010 Ýokary Liga
The 2010 Turkmenistan Higher League (Ýokary Liga) season was the eighteenth season of Turkmenistan's professional football league. It began on 2 April 2010 with the first round of games and ended in December. FC Balkan won the title. Teams As league size was expanded from nine to ten teams, no team had to face relegation after the conclusion of the 2009 season. FC Ahal as champions of the Turkmen second level of football were promoted. FC Bagtyýarlyk, Nebitçi Balkanabat and Turan Daşoguz were renamed FC Lebap, FC Balkan and FC Daşoguz, respectively. Turkmenistan League
Turkmenistan ( or ; tk, Türkmenistan / Түркменистан, ) is a country located in Central Asia, bordered by Kazakhstan to the northwest, Uzbekistan to the north, east and northeast, Afghanistan to the southeast, Iran to the south and southwest and the Caspian Sea to the west. FC Bagtyýarlyk
FC Lebap is a Turkmenistan football club based in Türkmenabat. Since 2015 they play in the second division, the Birinji liga. Their home stadium is Türkmenabat Stadium which can hold 10,000 people. History The club takes part in the championship of Turkmenistan since 1992. From the 1996 the name of the club added Eskavatorshik. In the winter break Championship 1997–98 club changed its name to Jeyhun. Since 2002, the club was called Garagum. That year the team won the Cup of Turkmenistan, and among the leading players were Vitaly Alekperov, Zarif Ereshev, Yazguly Hodjageldiev, Berdy Nurmuradov, Nikolay Yermilov (goalkeeper, which reflected two penalties in the shoot-out in the Cup final). In 2003 the team was suspected of intentional failure to check out the games, which is why the 2nd part of the championship club missed. Daşoguz (also Dashoguz, Dasoguz; roughly "stone spring" in Turkmen), formerly known as Tashauz (until 1992; russian: Ташау́з) and Dashkhovuz (1992–1999; russian: Дашхову́з), is a city in northern Turkmenistan and the capital of Daşoguz Province. Ashgabat
Ashgabat or Asgabat ( tk, Aşgabat, ; fa, عشقآباد, translit='Ešqābād, formerly named Poltoratsk ( rus, Полтора́цк, p=pəltɐˈratsk) between 1919 and 1927), is the capital and the largest city of Turkmenistan. It lies between the Karakum Desert and the Kopetdag mountain range in Central Asia, near the Iran-Turkmenistan border. The city was founded in 1881 on the basis of an Ahal Teke tribal village, and made the capital of the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic in 1924.
