2010 Uzbek League
The 2010 Uzbek League season was the 19th season of top-level football in Uzbekistan since independence in 1992. Bunyodkor were the defending champions from the 2009 campaign. Uzbekistan Super League ( uz, O'zbekiston Superligasi), also called Coca-Cola Uzbekistan Super League due to sponsorship reasons ( uz, Coca-Cola O'zbekiston Superligasi / Coca-Cola Ўзбекистон Суперлигаси), is the top division of professional football in Uzbekistan. It is operated under the auspices of the Uzbekistan Professional Football League and Uzbekistan Football Association. It was founded in 1992 and currently played with 14 teams. The top team qualifies to the group stage of the AFC Champions League. Metallurg Bekabad
PFK Metallurg Bekabad ( uz, "Metallurg Bekobod") is an Uzbek football club based in Bekabad. They play in the Uzbekistan Super League. History The club was founded in 1945. Metallurg played in one of the regional zones of Soviet Second League until 1992. Since 1992 club played in Uzbekistan First League. From 1992 to 1993 club was named ''Madanchi''. In 1994 club was renamed to ''Metallurg''. 1997 season club finished as runner-up after Temiryo'lchi and promoted to the Uzbek League. Bekabad
Bekobod ( uz, Bekobod/Бекобод formerly ''Begovat'') is a district-level city in Tashkent Region, eastern Uzbekistan. It lies along both banks of the Syr Darya River near Uzbekistan's border with Tajikistan. Bekobod originally arose in connection with a cement plant. It received the status of a city in 1945. Until 1964, the city was known as Begovat. Bekobod underwent rapid industrialization during the Soviet era. It has retained some of its industrial importance. Bekobod is home to a large steel mill and a cement factory. The Farkhad Dam and Farkhad Hydroelectric Plant lie just upstream from the city.
