2010 UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Women's Keirin
The Women's Keirin is one of the 9 women's events at the 2010 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, held in Ballerup, Denmark on 28 March 2010. 21 Cyclists from 15 countries participated in the contest. After the 3 qualifying heats, the fastest 2 riders in each heat advance to the second round. The remaining ones face a first round repechage The riders that did not advance to the second round race in 3 repechage heats. The first 2 riders in each heat advance to the second round along with the 6 that qualified before. The first 3 riders from each of the 2 Second Round heats advance to the Final and the remaining will race a consolation 7-12 final. Kaarle McCulloch
Kaarle McCulloch (born 20 January 1988) is an Australian former professional track cyclist and four time World Champion in the team sprint. She also won three golds at the Commonwealth Games and an Olympic bronze medal. She qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and rode in two events, the Women's Keirin where she came ninth, and the Women's Sprint where she came thirteenth. Early years McCulloch grew up in Gymea New South Wales. She was a promising middle-distance runner and won middle-distance championships in the 400 metres and 800 metres events when she was 14,15 and 16. When she was 17 her motivation in track and field waned and she turned to cycling to reinvigorate her Olympic dream. Her step-father Ken Bates introduced her to track cycling. Sandie Clair (born 1 April 1988) is a French professional racing cyclist and bobsledder. She won her first title in 2005 in the national junior sprint championship. It qualified her for the European junior championship in Fiorenzuola, where she won the sprint and rode the keirin and 500m time-trial. Anna Meares
Anna Maree Devenish Meares (born 21 September 1983) is an Australian retired track cyclist. She currently resides in Adelaide in South Australia where the Australian Institute of Sport's Track Cycling program has its headquarters at the Adelaide Super-Drome. She has been the 500 metre track time trial world champion on four occasions, and a gold medallist at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. At the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships Meares took the gold in the keirin—her 11th world title in total, which made her the most decorated female track cyclist of all time. She was the flag-bearer and captain for the Australian team at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where she won a bronze medal in keirin. Simona Krupeckaitė (born 13 December 1982) is a Lithuanian former professional track cyclist. She is the 2009 500 m Time Trial World Champion and World Record holder at 33.296s, and the 2010 Keirin World Champion. She also won the 2009, 2010 and 2016 Lithuanian Sportsperson of the Year award. Sarah Lee Wai-sze, BBS, MH (; born 12 May 1987) is a Hong Kong professional track cyclist. Her greatest success to date is winning the bronze medal in the women's keirin at the 2012 London Olympics, Hong Kong's third- ever Olympic medal and first in cycling. Monique Sullivan (born 21 February 1989) is a Canadian cyclist. She was born in Calgary, Alberta. She competed in keirin at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she placed sixth.
