Simona Krupeckaitė
Simona Krupeckaitė (born 13 December 1982) is a Lithuanian former professional Track cycling, track cyclist. She is the UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Women's 500 m Time Trial, 2009 500 m Time Trial World Champion and World Record holder at 33.296s, and the UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Women's Keirin, 2010 Keirin World Champion. She also won the 2009, 2010 and 2016 Lithuanian Sportsperson of the Year award. In 2010 Krupeckaitė reached one more world record. This time she achieved 10.793 s record at Flying 200 m time trial event. She retired from competition after the conclusion of the 2021 UCI Track Champions League in December of that year. 2015 UEC European Track Championships
The 2015 UEC European Track Championships was the sixth edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Velodrome Suisse in Grenchen, Switzerland, between 14 and 18 October. The Event was organised by the European Cycling Union. All European champions are awarded the UEC European Champion jersey which may be worn by the champion throughout the year when competing in the same event at other competitions. The Cycling at the 2016 Summer Olympics#Track cycling, 10 Olympic events (sprint, team sprint, team pursuit, keirin and omnium for men and women), as well as 11 other events are on the program for these European Championships. 2008 UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Women's Sprint
The Women's Sprint was one of the eight women's events at the 2008 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, held in Manchester, United Kingdom. 28 cyclists from 18 countries were due to participate in the contest, but two riders did not start. After the qualifying heats, the fastest 24 riders were to advance to the 1/16 finals, therefore all riders who contested the qualification advanced to the next round. The first rider in each of the 12 heats advanced to the second round. There was no repechage for this round. The first rider from each of the six Second Round heats advanced to the Quarterfinals and the second placed riders from a repechage to determine the other two riders that competed in the quarterfinals.
