2010 Premier Trophy (speedway)
The 2010 Premier Trophy was contested prior to the start of the Premier League season. The Reigning champions were the Kings Lynn Stars. The 2010 champions were the Newcastle Diamonds after beating the Birmingham Brummies 104-80 over a two legged final. The 2010 campaign was the last Premier Trophy campaign as it was dropped for the 2011 season. North Group The North Group was contested between Berwick Bandits, Edinburgh Monarchs, Glasgow Tigers, Newcastle Diamonds and Workington Comets. Kings Lynn Stars
King's Lynn Stars are a motorcycle speedway team who compete in the SGB Premiership. The nickname "Stars" comes from the defunct Norwich Stars team. The team was founded in 1965 and has been running continually since then, except for 1996 when King's Lynn failed to have a team competing in the British league system. History 1966–1995 The team's inaugural season was the 1966 British League season, where they finished 16th. They managed to finish in third place during the 1972 and 1973 seasons with their strongest riders being Terry Betts and Malcolm Simmons. The first silverware won by the team was the Knockout Cup in 1977. They won the final by the small margin of two points on aggregate, thanks largely to Michael Lee and Betts. The team continued to compete in the highest division until the end of the 1995 season but failed to finish any higher than 4th place. Perry Barr Stadium (also known as Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium and previously as Alexander Sports Ground(s)) is a stadium and a Greyhound Board of Great Britain regulated greyhound racing track on Aldridge Road in Perry Barr, Birmingham, England. The track is operated by the Arena Racing Company (ARC), who lease it from owners the National Asset Management Agency. Jordan Frampton
Jordan John Frampton (born 8 March 1985 in Poole, England) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Great Britain. Career Frampton started his speedway career in 2003, completing his first full season in 2004 with the Swindon Robins, Swindon Sprockets in the Conference League. In 2005, Frampton signed for the Sittingbourne Crusaders, also in the Conference League, where he established himself as a heat leader. At the start of 2006, Swindon and Sittingbourne dropped out of the Conference League and Frampton was left without a club until Premier League (speedway), Premier League club Mildenhall Fen Tigers signed him later that year. He also ended the season riding for Weymouth Wildcats in their Conference Trophy team. King's Lynn Stadium, also known as the Adrian Flux Arena and previously as the Norfolk Arena, is a short oval stadium situated to the south of King's Lynn on Saddlebow Road in Norfolk County, England. It currently hosts BriSCA Formula 1 Stock Car Racing, Banger racing, motorcycle speedway and is also a former greyhound racing track. Origins The stadium was constructed in 1951 on the west side of Saddlebow Road next door to a poultry farm. It originally opened for greyhound racing. Hoddesdon () is a town in the Borough of Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, lying entirely within the London Metropolitan Area and Greater London Urban Area.
