2010 Melbourne Football Club Season
The 2010 Melbourne Football Club season was the club's 111th year in the VFL/AFL since it began in 1897. Melbourne played 14 games at the MCG, 10 of which were home games. They also played a home match at TIO Stadium in Darwin against Port Adelaide in Round 9. It was Dean Bailey's third year as senior coach. James McDonald continued as the club's captain until retiring at the end of the year. After a terrible start to the season getting thrashed to by 56 points, Melbourne began to lift their work-rate in games and indicate that they were beginning to successfully maneuver Dean Bailey's coaching-style. Mark Jamar
Mark Jamar (born 9 August 1983) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club and Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Jamar was born and raised in the country South Australian town of Port Pirie. He played his early football at the Lions Football Club of the Spencer Gulf Football League, before moving to North Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Jamar was a standout performer at the 2001 AFL Under 18 Championships being selected in the All Australian team. However, he was overlooked in that year's draft. Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Simon Buckley
Simon Buckley (born 18 April 1987) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). He played for Melbourne Football Club from 2006 to 2009. He was drafted to Collingwood with 85th pick in 2009 AFL Draft but was delisted in 2012. Career Taken at pick 53 in the 2005 AFL Draft, Buckley was recruited from the Sandringham Dragons TAC Cup club. The 190 cm, 90 kg midfielder debuted in Round 14 (8 July) of the 2007 AFL season against Carlton Football Club and kicked his first league goal in Round 16. The Goulburn Valley Football Netball League is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria, Australia. It is a member of the Victorian Country Football League and has won the Victorian Country Football Championships in 2003 and 2005. The Shepparton Swans Football Netball Club is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the city of Shepparton in northern Victoria. The club teams currently compete in the Goulburn Valley League. Russell Robertson
Russell "Robbo" Robertson (born 24 November 1978) is a former professional Australian rules footballer, who last played for the Melbourne Football Club. Robertson is one of the Melbourne's great goalkickers, being one of just four players in the club's history to have led the goalkicking in four or more seasons. The Palmerston Football Club, nicknamed, Magpies, is an Australian rules football club, currently playing in the Northern Territory Football League. They were first called Internationals before entering the NTFL, then they were called North Darwin from the 1972/73 to 1995/96 season. Paul Wheatley (born 12 April 1981) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). A Preston Knights recruit, Wheatley made his debut for the Melbourne Football Club in 2000, after being selected at number 20 in the 1999 AFL Draft. Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League
The Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (abbreviated "MPNFL") is an Australian rules football competition, governed by the AFL South East. The MPNFL contains teams near the south eastern region of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. At the end of the 2017 season, the competition was restructured from a geographical to a divisional structure, with promotion/ relegation.
