2010 KNSB Dutch Allround Championships
The 2010 KNSB Dutch Allround Championships in speed skating were held at the Thialf ice stadium in Heerenveen, Netherlands on 6 and 7 March 2010. The championships were part of the 2009-2010 speed skating season. The men's and women's winners, Wouter olde Heuvel and Elma de Vries qualified for the 2010 World Allround Speed Skating Championships. Title holders Sven Kramer and Ireen Wüst didn't compete in the championships. They were already selected to compete at the World Allround Championships, besides of Jan Blokhuijsen and Diane Valkenburg, who also didn't compete at the Dutch Allround Championships. Thialf
Thialf is an ice arena in Heerenveen, Netherlands. Thialf consists of the Thialf-hal (a 12,500-capacity speed skating venue) and the Elfstedenhal (a 2,500-capacity ice hockey venue). Thialf is used for long track speed skating, short track speed skating, ice hockey, figure skating, ice speedway, and non-sporting events. The outdoor rink was opened in 1967, and the indoor stadium was opened in 1986. Several world records have been set in the indoor stadium. Annually, Thialf hosts two Speed Skating World Cup events. Jan de Jong was the ice rink master at Thialf for many years. History Thialf is named after Thialfi, a character in Norse mythology, who was Thor's servant and had to race a giant. Construction on the artificial outdoor ice rink was started in 1966, and it was opened on 14 October 1967 by Princess Christina of the Netherlands. Diane Valkenburg
Diane Valkenburg (born 30 August 1984) is a Dutch former speed skater who specialised in middle distances and was born in Bergschenhoek. Marije Joling
Marije Joling (born 30 September 1987) is a Dutch allround speed skater. In 2013, Joling won the 5000 m event at the Dutch Single Distance Championships. At the 2015 World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships in Heerenveen she won the bronze medal at the 3000 m event behind Martina Sáblíková and Ireen Wüst. Janneke Ensing
Janneke Ensing (born 21 September 1986) is a Dutch former sportsperson, who competed in speed skating in the 2000s before becoming a cyclist, competing for seven different teams between 2009 and 2021. Career Speed skating In 2002, she was the Dutch national C-junior champion. Two years later she won a bronze medal as a B-junior. At the 2007 KNSB Dutch Single Distance Championships Ensing finished 10th over 1500 metres. She also represented her country at the 2007 Winter Universiade held in Turin where she won the gold medal at the team pursuit together with Moniek Kleinsman and Diane Valkenburg. In 2010, Ensing finished fifth in the KNSB Dutch Allround Championships. Cycling Ensing started riding a bicycle in the summer as a means of cross-training before starting to compete in cycle racing. Anice Das (born 31 December 1985 in Mumbai) is a retired Indian-born Dutch speed skater, specialized in sprint distances. Professional career Das made her first appearance at the Dutch single distance championships on 30 December 2005, aged 19. Since then she competed in nearly all Dutch single distance championships and Dutch sprint championships. She has achieved a slow but steady progress in her results, with her best results occurring at the 2017 Dutch championships (3rd place in 500m single distance, 2nd place overall in sprint).
