Marie-Marguerite Dufay
Marie-Marguerite Dufay, best known as Marie-Guite Dufay (born 21 May 1949), is a French politician of the Socialist Party (PS) who serves as president of the regional council of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Political career Dufay was first elected to the Besançon city council in 1989. Six years later, she was appointed as deputy mayor of Besançon (1995 to 2008). In the 2004 Franche-Comté regional election, she was second in the Socialist List just after Raymond Forni. After the death of President Raymond Forni, she was elected by the assembly as President of the Region. Alain Joyandet (born 15 January 1954) is a French politician who was appointed Secretary of State for Cooperation and Francophony in the government of François Fillon from 18 March 2008 to July 2010. Prior to that, he was CEO of the Société Nouvelle des Éditions Comtoises (SNEC), a publisher of weekly newspapers and journals. He is a journalist by training. He has been mayor of Vesoul since 1995 and senator of Franche-Comté from 1995 to 2002. In 2010, he won the UMP nomination for President of Franche-Comté, but lost to socialist candidate Marie-Guite Dufay in the general election. Sophie Montel (born 22 November 1969 in Montbéliard) is a French politician. Member of the Franche-Comté Regional Council and later regional council of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté since 1998. She contested the 2018 Territoire de Belfort's 1st constituency by-election, but came in 8th place in the first round. In 2014, she was elected to the European Parliament. Alain Fousseret
Alain Fousseret (25 March 1956 – 6 December 2022) was a French politician and one of ten vice presidents of the Franche-Comté Regional Council. He won the nomination to be the next Greens and Europe Écologie candidate for President of Franche-Comté in 2010. Alain Fousseret was the brother of Jean-Louis Fousseret, the former Socialist mayor of Besançon. He died on 6 December 2022, at the age of 66.
