2010 European Short Course Swimming Championships
The 2010 European Short Course Swimming Championships was held 25–28 November 2010 at Pieter van den Hoogenband Zwemstadion in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The meet featured competition amongst national teams from Europe, in 38 short course (25m) swimming events. The competition featured a preliminary/semifinals/final format for the 50 and 100 events, a timed-final format (swimmers swim only once) in the 800/1500 freestyles, and prelims/final for all other events. Preliminary heats were swum in morning sessions; Semifinals and Finals in evening sessions. Each nation was permitted to enter three swimmers into each individual event; with a maximum of 2 eligible to advance on to Semifinals/Finals. Marco Koch (born 25 January 1990) is a German competitive swimmer who specializes in breaststroke events. He is a former world record holder in the 200 meter breaststroke (short course). Career At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he competed in the men's 200-meter breaststroke, finishing in 11th place overall in the heats and 7th in his semifinal (13th overall), failing to reach the final. At the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia, he won the gold medal in the men's 200-meter breaststroke, becoming the first German to claim a championship title in that event. Fabio Scozzoli (born 8 August 1988) is an Italian swimmer. At the 2012 World Short Course Championships, he won the gold medal in the 100 metre breaststroke. He is the 2022 Mediterranean champion in the 50 metre breaststroke. Aleksander Hetland (born 26 December 1982) is a Norwegian swimmer. Nicolaas "Nick" Driebergen (born August 19, 1987 in Rijnsburg) is a former Dutch Swimmer who is specialized in backstroke. He currently holds national long course records in all backstroke events and in the 4×100 medley relay.
