2010 Australian V8 Ute Racing Series
The 2010 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series was a motor racing series for Ford Falcon and Holden utilities (commonly known as "utes"), built and conforming to V8 Utes series regulations and those holding valid licences to compete as issued by series organisers Spherix and Australian V8 Ute Racing Pty. Ltd. The series formed the tenth running of a national series for V8 Utes in Australia. The series began on 17 March 2010 at the Adelaide Street Circuit and ended on 2 December at the Homebush Street Circuit after 8 rounds. The series was won by Grant Johnson, driving a Holden VE SS Ute. Ford Falcon (Australia)
The Ford Falcon is a full-size car, full-sized car that was manufactured by Ford Australia from 1960 to 2016. From the XA series of 1972 onward, each Falcon and range of derivates have been designed, developed, and built in Australia, following the phasing out of the American-influenced Ford Falcon (North America), Falcon of 1960 to 1971, which had been re-engineered locally as the XK to XY series for the harsher Australian conditions. The luxury-oriented Ford Fairmont model joined the range from 1965. Luxury long-wheelbase derivative versions called the Ford Fairlane (Australia), Ford Fairlane and LTD arrived in 1967 and 1973 respectively with production ending in 2007. Rick Bates
Rick Bates (born 19 March 1965) is an Australian rally driver. He is the twin brother of the rally and racing driver, Neal Bates. Whilst Neal has achieved more success in the Australian Rally Championship, winning it four times, Rick has won two major cross country events in a nine-year span. The first was Panama-Alaska in 1997 and the next win was the Carrera Sudamericana in 2006. He has, on at least one occasion, competed directly against his twin brother. Career In 1997, Bates won the Panama to Alaska rally driving a Porsche 911 with his co-driver Jenny Brittan. He has also appeared in two events of the World Rally Championship. First, he drove to 30th place at Rally Australia 1997 in a Daihatsu Charade GTi. Then, he drove at China Rally 1999, this time in a Volkswagen Jetta GTX, but he retired on the fifth special stage. Andrew Fisher (racing Driver)
Andrew Fisher (29 August 186222 October 1928) was an Australian politician who served as the fifth prime minister of Australia, from 1908 to 1909, 1910 to 1913, and 1914 to 1915, holding office as the leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP). In 1910 Fisher led Labor to its first federal election victory and first majority government. Fisher was born in Crosshouse, Ayrshire, Scotland. He left school at a young age to work in the nearby coal mines, becoming secretary of the local branch of the Ayrshire Miners' Union at the age of 17. Fisher immigrated to Australia in 1885, where he continued his involvement with trade unionism. Sieders Racing Team is a family-owned and -run Australian Touring Car, Sports Car and Truck Racing team that has competed in various Australian motor racing series. Jeremy John Gray (born 25 April 1947) is an English mathematician primarily interested in the history of mathematics. Biography Gray studied mathematics at the University of Oxford from 1966 to 1969, and then at Warwick University, obtaining his PhD in 1980 under the supervision of Ian Stewart and David Fowler. He has worked at the Open University since 1974, and became a lecturer there in 1978. He also lectured at the University of Warwick from 2002 to 2017, teaching a course on the history of mathematics.
