Sieders Racing Team is a family-owned and -run Australian Touring Car, Sports Car and Truck Racing team that has competed in various Australian motor racing series. The team's primary operation is racing a V8 Supercar Ford Falcon in the second-tier series, the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series. History The team has run over the years cars and trucks for Bill, Luke, David and Colin Sieders in a variety of series, initially Truck racing in the late 1990s, branching briefly into V8 Supercar in the guise of All-Trans Racing with the assistance of the Garry Willmington Performance initially with Bill Sieders, Luke joined shortly afterwards as did fellow truck racer John Falk. The team returned several years later via Aussie Racing Cars and the short lived Lotus Trophy as David and Colin began their careers. 2000 FAI 1000
The 2000 FAI 1000 was the fourth running of the Australia 1000 race, first held after the organisational split over the Bathurst 1000 that occurred in 1997. It was the 37th anniversary of the original touring car endurance race held at the Mount Panorama Circuit in 1963. It was the 43rd race that traces its lineage back to the 1960 Armstrong 500 held at Phillip Island. It was held on 19 November 2000 at the Mount Panorama Circuit just outside Bathurst and was the thirteenth and final round of the 2000 Shell Championship Series for V8 Supercars. The race was held in mostly wet conditions which resulted in several safety car periods. As a result, the average race speed was the slowest since the 1974 Bathurst 1000. Aaren Russell (born 22 August 1991) is an Australian motor-racing driver in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. Career history Junior formulae In 2008 and 2009, Russell competed in the NSW Formula Vee championship, a stepping stone taken by several current main series V8 Supercars drivers. After placing 8th in his 2008 rookie season and 2nd in 2009, the Development V8 Supercar Series, the second tier of V8 Supercars racing, became his next target. Toby Joseph Price OAM is an Australian off-road and enduro motorcycle racing world champion. He lives in Gold Coast, Queensland, and rode for the KTM Off-Road Racing Team until October 2015. Colin Sieders
Colin Sieders (born 19 January 1982) is an Australian paracanoeist and former racing driver. He competed for Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. Personal Sieders was born in Blacktown, New South Wales on 19 January 1982. In 1997, he was involved in a car accident on his way to soccer when the car he was travelling lost control on black ice and crashed into a pole. The driver of the car was killed. CareFlight responded to the accident and Sieders believes that they saved his life. He spent 88 days in intensive care, underwent 30 operations over 51 weeks in hospital. He was initially told he would never walk again. A second car accident in December 2011 resulted in him being back in a wheelchair and limited walking through the use of crutches . Andrew Fisher (29 August 186222 October 1928) was an Australian politician who served as the fifth prime minister of Australia, from 1908 to 1909, 1910 to 1913, and 1914 to 1915, holding office as the leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP). In 1910 Fisher led Labor to its first federal election victory and first majority government. Fisher was born in Crosshouse, Ayrshire, Scotland. He left school at a young age to work in the nearby coal mines, becoming secretary of the local branch of the Ayrshire Miners' Union at the age of 17. Fisher immigrated to Australia in 1885, where he continued his involvement with trade unionism. The Ford Falcon (EL) is a full-size car that was produced by Ford Australia from 1996 to 1998. It was the fifth and final iteration of the fifth generation of the Falcon and also included the Ford Fairmont (EL)—the luxury-oriented version. The EL series served as the final chapter of the fifth generation "E-series" architecture, which began with the EA of 1988. Ford discontinued the car in 1998, and replaced it with the AU. The SuperUtes Series (known for commercial reasons as the Haltech V8 SuperUte Series) is an Australian pickup truck racing competition that was launched in 2018 as a successor to the V8 Ute Racing Series. The series' events are held as a support category to Supercars Championship events throughout Australia. Background The V8 Ute Racing Series, which ran from 2001 to 2017, used utility vehicles based on the Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore models. However, with production of the Falcon and Commodore finishing in 2016 and 2017 respectively, utility vehicles were no longer being mass produced in Australia, which led to investigations into a new platform for the Utes series as far back as the early 2010s.
