The 2009–10 Karnataka State Film Awards, presented by Government of Karnataka, to felicitate the best of Kannada Cinema released in the year 2009. The ceremony was held on 15 May 2012. Lifetime achievement award Jury A committee headed by Dwarakish was appointed to evaluate the feature films awards. Film Awards Other Awards Controversy On August 14, 2015 in an unprecedented move, the Government of Karnataka is taking back four State film awards conferred on two films. The decision on conferring these awards has been questioned by S. Radha in the High Court of Karnataka on the contention that the applications for these awards were accepted after the expiry of the deadline fixed by the government to receive entries. The government, according to sources in the Information Department, is making an all-out effort to “avoid humiliation” and are appealing to the recipients to return the awards. The Government of Karnataka, abbreviated as, GoK, or simply Karnataka Government, is a democratically-elected state body with the governor as the ceremonial head to govern the Southwest Indian state of Karnataka. Baraguru Ramachandrappa
Baraguru Ramachandrappa (born 18 October 1947) is an Indian essayist, lyricist, screenwriter, film director, socialist, writer, novelist, predominantly works in Kannada language and President of the Textbook Revision Committee, in Karnataka Text Books Society (''KTBS'') from May 2015. In 2008, he was given an honorary doctorate by the Kuvempu University and Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, Karnataka. Ramachandrappa won the National Film Award for Best Lyrics in 2002 for "Baruthe Ve Nav Baruthe Ve" in the film ''Thaayi'' and was given the Pampa Award in 2011 by the Government of Karnataka for his contribution to Kannada literature. His directorial debut film, ''Ondu Oorina Kathe'' (1978), fetched him the State award for best story writer for the year 1978–79. Chandrakala Mohan
Chandrakala Mohan is an Indian theatre, serial and film actress, known for her works in Kannada. She received Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the movie ''Runanubandha'' in 2009. Personal life Chandrakala was born and brought up in Hosahalli in Mandya. She married Mohan at the age of 13 and has two children. ''Aaptharakshaka'' ( en, italic=yes, Dearest Savior) is a 2010 Kannada horror film directed by P. Vasu and written by V. R. Bhaskar. The film stars Vishnuvardhan in his 200th Kannada film and posthumous film, along with an ensemble cast including Vimala Raman, Sandhya, Bhavana Ramanna, Avinash, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, and Komal Kumar. The film is a sequel to the 2004 Kannada blockbuster film ''Apthamitra'', also directed by P. Vasu. The film was released on 19 February 2010 to highly positive reviews. Konkani Language
Konkani () is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by the Konkani people, primarily in the Konkan region, along the western coast of India. It is one of the 22 scheduled languages mentioned in the Indian Constitution, and the official language of the Indian state of Goa. It is a minority language in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat & Damaon, Diu & Silvassa. Konkani is a member of the Southern Indo-Aryan language group. It retains elements of Vedic structures and shows similarities with both Western and Eastern Indo-Aryan languages. The first Konkani inscription is dated 1187 A.D.
