Fussball Club Basel 1893, widely known as FC Basel, FCB, or just Basel, is a Swiss football club based in Basel, in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Alexander Frei or Alex Frei (born 15 July 1979) is a Swiss professional football coach and a former player who played as a forward. He is currently the manager of Basel. He began his career at Basel, going on to various other clubs in Switzerland, France and Germany before returning to his home club, where he won the Swiss Super League title in all four of his seasons, including doubles with the Swiss Cup in 2010 and 2012. Marco Calogero Aratore (born 4 June 1991) is a Swiss football coach and a former player who played as a midfielder. He is a youth coach at Basel. He was Swiss youth international footballer. Xherdan Shaqiri (; born 10 October 1991) is a Swiss professional footballer who plays as a winger for Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire and the Switzerland national team. Eduardo Javier Rubio Köstner (born 7 November 1983) is a Chilean football manager and former footballer. Playing career Club Rubio made his debut for Universidad Católica in 2002 against Unión Española. After five years with Universidad Católica, Rubio left Chile at the beginning of 2007 for Mexico to play for Cruz Azul. Eduardo Adelino da Silva (born October 13, 1979), better known as simply Eduardo, is a former Brazilian footballer. He played as forward or as a attacking midfielder. Career Early career Eduardo started out as a youngster at his home-town club Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama in 1999. He started out in the reserves originally but soon broke into the first team because of his goalscoring ability. He made his debut at the age of 20 and made an impact. Ivan Ergić ( sr-Cyrl, Иван Ергић, ; born 21 January 1981) is a retired Serbian footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in modern-day Croatia and raised in Australia, he began his career at Perth Glory and was briefly with Juventus before moving to Switzerland's FC Basel in 2001, where he played 202 league matches. He left in 2009 for Bursaspor, where he spent two seasons, winning the Turkish Süper Lig in the first.
