2009 Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain
The 2009 Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain was the seventh Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain season. The season consisted of twenty rounds, beginning on 5 April at Brands Hatch's Indy circuit and ending on 4 October at the circuit's Grand Prix layout. The series supported the British Touring Car Championship throughout the season. Tim Bridgman took his first title, holding off the challenges of reigning champion Tim Harvey, James Sutton and Michael Caine. In the other classes, Glynn Geddie took home the Pro-Am 1 title, while Glenn McMenamin won Pro-Am 2. 2009 British Touring Car Championship Season
The 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship season was the 52nd British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season. It began at Brands Hatch on the Indy layout on 5 April and finished after 30 races over 10 events on the Grand Prix layout at Brands Hatch on 4 October. Colin Turkington won the championship for the first time, ahead of Jason Plato and Fabrizio Giovanardi. The season also saw Airwaves BMW score their first win in the series when Rob Collard won the second race of the day at the opening meeting at Brands Hatch. The team seemed to have added a second win in race three as Jonathan Adam crossed the line first but he was demoted to second after making contact with Jason Plato handing Plato the win. Michael Caine (racing Driver)
Michael Caine (born 13 August 1969 in Cambridge) is a British auto racing driver. He currently competes in the British GT Championship and the British Touring Car Championship. He was the 2012 British GT champion along with Daniele Perfetti. Racing career British Touring Car Championship He made his British Touring Car Championship debut for Airwaves Racing at Rockingham in 2011, where he competed for two rounds, scoring a point on his debut. The Thruxton Circuit is a motor-racing circuit located near the village of Thruxton in Hampshire, England, United Kingdom, about 30 miles north of Southampton. Liam Griffin (born 9 March 1973 in Barnet, Greater London) is a British auto racing driver and businessman. He is the son of John Griffin and was CEO of minicab company Addison Lee for 10 years before carrying out a management buyout with the private equity firm Carlyle. Mark Higgins (born 21 May 1971) is a Manx rally driver competing in the British Rally Championship. His co-driver was Rory Kennedy. Career Higgins was born on the Isle of Man on 21 May 1971. He began his career in motorsport at the age of nine when he took up karting helped by his mother and father. By the age of 17, Higgins had successfully competed in a range of motor sport activities such as trial bikes and karts.
