2009 Pattaya Women's Open
The 2009 PTT Pattaya Women's Open was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 18th edition of the Pattaya Women's Open, and was part of the International category on the 2009 WTA Tour. It took place in Pattaya, Thailand, from 7 February through 15 February 2009. The total prize money for the tournament was US$220,000, upgraded from last year's US$170,000 prize money. The singles draw was headlined by Australian Open semifinalist Vera Zvonareva, Caroline Wozniacki, Dominika Cibulková. Other top players were 2007 champion Sybille Bammer, Peng Shuai, home favourite Tamarine Tanasugarn, 2006 champion Shahar Pe'er and Magdaléna Rybáriková. Vera Zvonareva won the singles title. The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2020 season, there were 32 tournaments, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,000 ($775,000 for Shenzhen, and $525,000 for Guangzhou and Hong Kong). Magdaléna Rybáriková
Magdaléna Rybáriková (; born 4 October 1988) is a retired Slovak tennis player. In her career, she won four singles titles and one doubles title on the WTA Tour. Rybáriková reached the semifinals of the 2017 Wimbledon Championships and broke into the top 30 for the first time in September 2017, and reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 17, in March 2018. Early life Rybáriková started tennis at the age of eight. She was born in Piešťany to father Anton, a business manager, and mother Maria. She has two older siblings, Filip and Nada. Sesil Radoslavova Karatantcheva ( bg, Сесил Радославова Каратанчева; born 8 August 1989) is a Bulgarian former tennis player. In her career, she won nine singles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. On 7 November 2005, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 35. On 19 April 2010, she peaked at No. 154 in the doubles rankings. Noppawan "Nok" Lertcheewakarn ( th, นพวรรณ เลิศชีวกานต์; born 18 November 1991) is a former professional Thai tennis player. At 2009 Wimbledon Championships, she won the junior singles title.
