LATAM Challenge Series
LATAM Challenge Series is an open-wheel racing series based in Latin America. LATAM is the replacement for Formula Renault 2000 de America. Venues In the 7 seasons, 20 venues were used, all road courses. The races were mostly held in Mexico until 2013, while all the races in 2014 season were held in Florida and Texas. In 2008 and 2009 the series was a support race for the World Touring Car Championship's Race of Mexico in Puebla. Cars For the first two seasons, Formula Renault 2.0 cars was used. LATAM Airlines Group S.A. is an airline holding company headquartered in Santiago, Chile. Homero Richards
Homero Richards (born June 8, 1976) is a Mexican race car driver from Mexico City. Richards won back-to-back championships in the Panam GP Series (Latin American Formula Renault championship), in 2004 and 2005. He made his first and only Champ Car World Series start in 2005 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. In 2006, he switched from open-wheel to stock cars, and started to compete in the NASCAR Corona Series. He drove the #20 Nextel car for H&H Racing, a team he co-owns with his brother Horacio. Giancarlo "Gato" Serenelli Pellechia (born 10 July 1981 in Caracas) is a Venezuelan racing driver. Career After karting, Serenelli raced in Formula Ford in his native Venezuela, winning his first title in 2000. After racing in the Italian Formula Renault Championship in 2001, he reclaimed the Formula Ford title in 2002. In 2007 he finished runner-up in the Formula Renault 2000 de America, Formula Renault Panam GP series, with two wins from the nine races. In 2008 he won the LATAM Challenge Series, and after finishing runner-up in 2009 he won the title again in both 2010 and 2011. Apodaca () is a city and its surrounding municipality that is part of Monterrey Metropolitan area. It lies in the northeastern part of the Monterrey Metropolitan Area. Autódromo Monterrey
The Autódromo Monterrey is a racetrack in Apodaca, Nuevo León, México, in the Monterrey metropolitan area. The track currently is operated by DIPSA and host races for NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series, NASCAR México, drag racing, karting and Volkswagen Beetle, Volks races. History The track is located front the Del Norte International Airport. The Autódromo was inaugurated in 1970 by Filiberto Jiménez. In the 1970s, 500 km of Monterrey was the main event in this circuit. Layout The track has a long straight (used for drag racing), followed by a chicane (turn 1) which takes the drivers to a hairpin turn. Turn 6 is another chicane, together with T1 was added later.
