2009 India Open Grand Prix
The 2009 India Open Grand Prix also known as Jaypee Cup Syed Modi Memorial India Grand Prix was a badminton tournament which took place at Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium in Lucknow, India from 15 to 20 December 2009. It is the first time this tournament was ranked as BWF Grand Prix event with a total purse of $50,000. It was the last tournament of the 2009 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix. Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium is an indoor sports venue in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It is commonly used for the indoor sports including Kabbadi, Badminton and Table Tennis. Parupalli Kashyap
Parupalli Kashyap (born 8 September 1986) is an Indian badminton player. A former World No.6, he trains at Gopichand Badminton Academy. He was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Government of India in 2012. He created history by reaching the quarter-finals of men's singles at the 2012 London Olympics, being the first male player from India to do so. At the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, he won the gold medal in men's singles. Kashyap was the Icon Player for the Indian Badminton League team, Banga Beats in the 2013 edition. He married fellow badminton player, Saina Nehwal in a private ceremony on 14 December 2018. Trupti Murgunde (born 3 June 1982) is an Indian Badminton player who plays singles & doubles. She is a Dhyan Chand Awardee. The shuttler, who was born in Pune, has won the 2009 National Championship for women after remaining runners up for 3 times. She was also senior nationals doubles runner-up and junior national doubles champion. Trupti is also a five times South Asian Games gold medalist, including twice in singles in 2004 and 2006. Jeanine Cicognini (born 14 November 1986) is a Swiss badminton player who now represents Italy. Cicognini won her first Swiss senior title at age 16 and has since won the award seven more times. Biography In 2005, she won the silver medal at the European Junior Badminton Championships in the girls' singles event. Cicognini became a badminton professional as soon as she left school. She soon moved to Denmark, and then moved to the International Badminton Federation's training centre in Saarbrücken, Germany. Fransisca Ratnasari Hari Saputra (born 2 October 1986) is an Indonesian retired badminton player. Personal life Fransisca Ratnasari Hari Saputra was born as the youngest daughter of four children of Petrus Haryanto and M. Kasiyem family. Aditi Mutatkar (born 6 October 1987) is an Indian badminton player from Pune, Maharashtra. She won the Silver Medal in Mixed team event in 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi, 2010. She reached her highest rank of 27th in the world when she registered her career-best performance of reaching the finals of the Bitburger Open.
