2009 Malaysia Super League
The 2009 Liga Super ( en, 2009 Super League) also known as the TM Liga Super for sponsorship reasons is the sixth season of the Liga Super, the top-tier professional football league in Malaysia.http://www.rsssf.com/tablesm/malay09.html 2009 Liga Super The season was held from 3 January and concluded on 3 August 2009. The Liga Super champions for 2009 was Selangor. Teams A total of 14 teams compete in the 2009 season which includes the top 12 teams that participated in the 2007–08 season and champions and runners-up of the 2007-08 Liga Premier. Sarawak were relegated at the end of the 2009 Liga Super season after finishing in the bottom place of the league table. Mohamed Omer (footballer)
Mohammed Omar Mohammed Ahmed Al-Shaddadi, known as Mohammad Omar ( ar, محمد عمر, born November 11, 1976 in Dubai, UAE) is a retired Emirati footballer, serving as the CEO for Mumbai Tigers F.C. in India. He was the captain of the UAE national football team from 2002-2008. During his professional football career which spanned over 20 years he has played for many clubs including Al Wasl, Al Ain, Al Jazira, Al Dhafra, Al-Nasr, and Ajman Club. In Summer 2010, Omar announced that he would move back to the club that he started with, Al Wasl FC to play a final season and retire. In 2002, he joined Omani club, Dhofar and competed with them in the final of the Sultan Qaboos Cup, and scored the only goal for the team in a game which they eventually lost to neighbor's, Al-Nasr. 2011 AFC Asian Cup Qualification
The 2011 AFC Asian Cup qualification saw various countries take part to determine 10 spots to the final tournament in Qatar under the new qualification system set by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Six other teams also qualified for the finals, even though they did not take part in the qualifiers: * The host nation: Qatar; * The top three finishers in the 2007 tournament: Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Korea Republic; * The winner of the 2008 AFC Challenge Cup: India; * The winner of the 2010 AFC Challenge Cup: Korea DPR. History FABD is the successor organisation of the Brunei Football Association (BAFA) that was banned by FIFA and AFC in 2009 for government interference. At its meeting on May 30, 2011, the Fifa Executive Committee, presided over by president Joseph S. Blatter, resolved to remove the suspensions against the football associations of Bosnia-Herzegovina (FFBH) and Brunei Darussalam. Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Football Club (His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Brunei Football Club in English, commonly known as DPMM FC) is a professional football club based in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. The club played in the Brunei Premier League in the early 2000s, winning the league title in 2002 and 2004. The club then decided to play in Malaysia, and joined the Malaysian Premier League as a foreign-based team in for the 2005–06 season. They won promotion to the Malaysian Super League (the top tier of Malaysian football) at the end of their first season in Malaysian football, and then finished 3rd and 10th in the following two season in the Super League.
