Malam Bacai Sanhá
Malam Bacai Sanhá () (5 May 1947 – 9 January 2012) was a Guinea-Bissau politician who was President of Guinea-Bissau from 8 September 2009 until his death on 9 January 2012. A member of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC), Sanhá was President of the National People's Assembly from 1994 to 1999 and then served as acting President of Guinea-Bissau from 14 May 1999, to 17 February 2000, following the ouster of President João Bernardo Vieira. Standing as the PAIGC candidate, he placed second in the 1999–2000 presidential election as well as the 2005 presidential election before winning the June–July 2009 presidential election. Zinha Vaz
Francisca Maria Monteira e Silva Vaz Turpin, better known as Zinha Vaz (born 4 October 1952), is a Bissau-Guinean women's rights activist and politician. She has been a member of the National People's Assembly for several terms for the Resistance of Guinea-Bissau-Bafatá Movement, as well as a presidential advisor. In 1999 she served for a brief time as mayor of the capital city Bissau. She was jailed for political reasons for three years during the 1970s and in 2003 again for several days. Mamadú Iaia Djaló
Mamadu Iaia Djaló (c. 1962 – 20 December 2021) was a Guinea-Bissau politician, and the founder and leader of the New Democracy Party. Political career Running as an independent presidential candidate in the 2005 presidential election, Djaló finished sixth out of thirteen presidential candidates, receiving 1.59% of the vote. In 2007, he founded the New Democracy Party, and contested the 2009 presidential elections, in which he finished fourth out of eleven candidates, with 3.11% of the vote. He did not contest the 2012 presidential elections, but in 2014 general elections he finished fifth out of thirteen with 4.56% of the vote and his party won one seat in parliament. In April 2018 he was appointed Minister of Justice and Human Rights. In a cabinet reshuffle in July 2019, he was appointed Minister of Commerce and Industry. Henrique Pereira Rosa (18 January 1946 – 15 May 2013) was a Bissau-Guinean politician who served as interim President of Guinea-Bissau from 2003 to 2005. He was born in 1946 in Bafatá. Interim President of Guinea-Bissau Rosa served as the interim President of Guinea-Bissau from 28 September 2003 until 1 October 2005. Iaia Djalo
Iaia of Cyzicus ( el, Ιαία της Κυζίκου), sometimes (incorrectly) called Lala or Lalla, or rendered as Laia or Maia, was a Roman painter, born in Greece, and relatively exceptional for being a woman artist. She was alive during the time of Marcus Terentius Varro (116–27 BC). In ''De Mulieribus Claris'', his book of women's biographies, Boccaccio refers to her as "Marcia", possibly confusing her with the Vestal Virgin of that name.
