The 2009 GDF Suez Grand Prix was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 15th edition of the Budapest Grand Prix, an International-level tournament on the 2009 WTA Tour. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2020 season, there were 32 tournaments, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,000 ($775,000 for Shenzhen, and $525,000 for Guangzhou and Hong Kong). Petra Martić
Petra Martić (; born 19 January 1991) is a Croatian professional tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 14, achieved in January 2020. Sharon Fichman
Sharon Fichman ( ; born December 3, 1990) is a Canadian-Israeli inactive tennis player. In 2004, at the age of 13, she was Canada's Under-18 Indoor & Outdoor National girls' champion, and also won the doubles title. In 2005, Fichman won the gold medal in women's singles at the 2005 Maccabiah Games in Israel, at the age of 14. In 2006, Fichman won the Australian Open and French Open junior doubles championships. She was ranked No. 5 on the ITF Junior Circuit in December 2006. Since turning professional, her career-highs have been No. 77 in singles (May 19, 2014) and No. 21 in doubles (January 17, 2022).
