2009 Asian Netball Championship
The 2009 Asian Netball Championship was the seventh edition of the Asian Netball Championship, a quadrennial Asian netball championship co-ordinated by the Asian Federation of Netball Associations (AIFNA), inaugurated in 1985. Nine nations competed in the tournament with the Sri Lanka taking out their fourth Asian Championship over Singapore. 2005 Asian Netball Championships

2012 Asian Netball Championships
The 2012 Asian Netball Championships was the 8th edition of the tournament. The tournament was played at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 25 August to 31 August with ten Asian national netball teams. Asian Netball Championship
The Asian Netball Championship is a netball competition held every two years with teams from across Asia competing. First 7 editions were held every four years, then changed to every two years starting from 2012. Sri lanka is the reigning champion of the tournament and also the most successful team, having won the Asian Netball Championships 6 times. Singapore has 3 championships and Malaysia has two. From the first edition of the tournament held in 1985, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia dominated the tournament by always finishing within the top three. Only exception is the 3rd edition of the tournament held in 1993 where host nation Hong kong managed to win the championship. Netball
Netball is a ball sport played on a court by two teams of seven players. It is among a rare number of sports which have been created exclusively for female competitors. The sport is played on indoor and outdoor netball courts and is specifically played in schools. Netball is most popularly played in Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth nations. A common misunderstanding of the sport's origins has resulted in the mistaken belief that netball was created to prevent women from playing basketball. However, the sport is the result of Clara Baer's misinterpretation of its rules. Asia Netball , formerly the Asian Netball Federation, Asian Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA) and Netball Asia, is the governing body of netball in Asia. Netball Asia was founded in 1986 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, three years after representatives from five Asian netball countries – Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and India – met during the 1983 Netball World Championships in Singapore to discuss the creation of an Asian netball governing body. Sri Lanka National Netball Team
The Sri Lanka national netball team is the national netball team of Sri Lanka. The team is coached by Thilaka Jinadasa and captained by Chathurangi Jayasooriya. As of 21 July 2019, Sri Lanka are ranked 18th in the world. History Netball was first played in Sri Lanka in 1921. The first game was played by Ceylon Girl Guide Company at Kandy High School. By 1952, Sri Lankan clubs were playing Indian club sides. In 1956, Sri Lanka played its first international match against Australia's national team in Sri Lanka. In 1963, Sri Lanka was one of eleven teams who participated in the first Netball World Cup. For Ceylon, they would finish in ninth place as they get a win over Wales and Northern Ireland. Singapore National Netball Team
The Singapore national netball team are the national netball team representing Singapore. The Singapore team have competed at seven World Netball Championships (1967, 1975, 1999, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019). They have also won two Nations Cup titles (2005, 2006). In 2005, the Singaporean team won the Asian Netball Championship with a win over the Malaysian team, scoring 53–39 in the finals. As of 30 June 2019, Singapore are 26th on the INF World Rankings. The Kshatrapa, Andhra and Gupta started curving the bottom vertical line coming up with a -look-alike. The Nagari continued the bottom stroke to make a circle and enclose the 3-look-alike, in much the same way that the sign @ encircles a lowercase ''a''. As time went on, the enclosing circle became bigger and its line continued beyond the circle downwards, as the 3-look-alike became smaller. Soon, all that was left of the 3-look-alike was a squiggle.
