Asian Netball Championship
The Asian Netball Championship is a netball competition held every two years with teams from across Asia competing. First 7 editions were held every four years, then changed to every two years starting from 2012. Sri lanka is the reigning champion of the tournament and also the most successful team, having won the Asian Netball Championships 6 times. Singapore has 3 championships and Malaysia has two. From the first edition of the tournament held in 1985, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia dominated the tournament by always finishing within the top three. Only exception is the 3rd edition of the tournament held in 1993 where host nation Hong kong managed to win the championship. The 2018 Asian Netball Championships is the 11th edition of the Asian Netball Championships was held in Singapore. The championships which was held at the OCBC Arena at the Singapore Sports Hub from September 1–9. In the final, Sri Lanka won their fifth Asian title by defeating Singapore 69-50 as both teams qualified through to the 2019 Netball World Cup as the Asian representatives. Tharjini Sivalingam of Sri Lanka received the Player of the tournament award for her outstanding aggressive skills as she made a comeback into the national team after a three-year hiatus. 2022 Asian Netball Championships
The 2022 Asian Netball Championships were held in Singapore between 3 September and 11 September 2022, with eleven teams taking part. The championships also served as qualifiers for the 2023 Netball World Cup. The tournament had two group stages, with results from the first stage determining groups for the second. After the second round, teams were paired off within their group. For teams in the middle and lower groups of the second round, these play-offs determined final ranking.
