2008–09 Persian Gulf Cup
The 2008–09 Persian Gulf Cup (also known as Iran Pro League) was the 26th season of Iran's Football League and eighth as Iran Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Persepolis were the defending champions. The season featured 15 teams from the 2007–08 Persian Gulf Cup and two new teams promoted from the 2007–08 Azadegan League: Payam Mashhad as champions and Foolad. Damash replaced Pegah. The league started on 4 August 2008 and ended on 26 April 2009. Esteghlal won the Pro League title for the second time in their history (total seventh Iranian title). Teams *In October 2008 Pegah Gilan terminated their sports activities due to financial problems. Damash Iranian (Damash Mineral Water Company) owned by Amir Abedini took over their license. Sattar Zare
Sattar Zare ( fa, ستار زارع, born 27 January 1982) is an Iranian football coach and former player who currently manages Bargh Shiraz. He played both the wing-back and midfield positions. Club career Zare started his youth career at Bargh Shiraz at the age of 8 and stayed with the youth team until he was 20 and played for the team after becoming influential in the club's relative success in recent years. He is the captain of Bargh and the only Bargh player that participates in Team melli in recent years. Hafezieh Stadium
The Hafeziyeh Stadium ( fa, ورزشگاه حافظیه) is a multi-purpose stadium in Shiraz, Iran. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Persian Gulf League side, Fajr Sepasi F.C. The stadium also is used for some matches of Bargh Shiraz F.C. in Azadegan League. The stadium holds 20,000 people and is all-seater. The stadium was the host venue of 2012 Hazfi Cup Final.
