2008–09 Frölunda HC Season
The 2008–09 Frölunda HC season was the club's 29th season in the Swedish elite league Elitserien. The regular season began on 15 September 2008 against rival team HV71, and concluded on 28 February 2009 against Djurgårdens IF. Frölunda looked to improve upon their progress in the 2007–08 season after being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Färjestad BK. Niklas Andersson was named captain of the team after Jonas Johnson retired. Ronnie Sundin continued serving as alternate captain; Tomi Kallio and Riku Hahl were named alternate captains after Jonas Esbjörs had retired. Kent Norberg
Kenth Thure "Nubben" Norberg (born June 12, 1967) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player and head coach. He later became the sports manager of Timrå IK in the Swedish Swedish Elite League (SEL). Playing career Norberg debuted as a young player for Sollefteå HK, and during his second season in 1987 he helped the team take a surprising spot in Allsvenskan in the spring of 1988. After Sollefteå, Norberg was signed by Modo Hockey in Elitserien. Following a good debut season in Elitserien, Norberg had trouble establishing himself as a sophomore. He signed with recently demoted Skellefteå AIK the following season, and became one of the team's most valuable players. After four seasons with Skellefteå AIK, Norberg signed with Timrå IK where he played his final three seasons before retirement. Turkuhalli
Gatorade Center (formerly HK Areena, Elysée Arena, Typhoon Arena, but commonly referred to as Turkuhalli in Finnish and Åbohallen in Swedish) is a multi-functional indoor arena in the district of Artukainen in Turku, Finland. Opened in November 1990, it can hold up to 11,820 spectators for ice hockey games. The 2008–09 NHL season was the 92nd season of operation (91st season of play) of the National Hockey League (NHL). It was the first season since prior to the 2004–05 lockout in which every team played each other at least once during the season, following three seasons where teams only played against two divisions in the other conference (one division at home and one on the road). The Ottawa Senators (french: Sénateurs d'Ottawa), officially the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and colloquially known as the Sens, are a professional ice hockey team based in Ottawa. Cloetta Center
Saab Arena, formerly named Cloetta Center between 2004–2014, is an arena in Linköping, Sweden. It opened in September 2004 and holds 8,500 people during sport events and 11,500 during concerts. On its opening, it became the new home ice for the ice hockey team Linköpings HC, replacing Stångebro Ishall. Vallentuna is the seat of Vallentuna Municipality in Stockholm County, Sweden, with 33,219 inhabitants in 2018.
