The 2008/09 FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup was the 18th in a row (16th official) Continental Cup winter season and the 7th summer season in ski jumping for men. This was also the 5th winter and the 1st summer season for ladies. Other competitive circuits this season included the World Cup and Grand Prix. Maciej Kot
Maciej Kot (Polish pronunciation: ; born 9 June 1991) is a Polish ski jumper. He is a member of the national team and competed at the Winter Olympics in 2014 and 2018. He is a 2017 World Champion and bronze medalist of 2013 World Championship in the team large hill event. Personal life Maciej Kot was born in Limanowa, Poland, but raised in Zakopane. His father Rafał was a physiotherapist for the Polish ski jumping team, now he is a ski jumping expert for Polish national television. Maciej's older brother Jakub (born 1990) is a ski jumper as well. Maciej Kot graduated the University School of Physical Education in Krakow with master's degree in physical education (MPhEd). Jakub Janda
Jakub Janda (; born 27 April 1978) is a Czech politician and former ski jumper. In ski jumping he competed from 1996 to 2017, winning the 2005/06 World Cup and 2005/06 Four Hills Tournament (shared with Janne Ahonen), as well as silver and bronze medals at the 2005 World Championships. Janda is one of the most successful ski jumpers from the Czech Republic, and is the only Czech World Cup champion to date. Ski jumping career Janda made his World Cup debut in 1996. He had his first major success in 2003, finishing in third place in Liberec. Janda improved his performance under new Slovenian coach Vasja Bajc in 2004. Audi Arena Oberstdorf (from 2004 to 2017 Erdinger Arena, until 2004 Skisprungstadion am Schattenberg) is a complex of five ski jumping hills, located in the German town of Oberstdorf, Bavaria, on the northwestern slope of the Schattenberg mountain (1845 m). On the largest hill of the complex, the Schattenbergschanze (meaning "Hill on Shadow Mountain"), with its K-120 and HS137, the first competition of the 4-Hills-Tournament takes place every year since 1952. Oberstdorf ( Low Alemannic: ''Oberschdorf'') is a municipality and skiing and hiking town in Germany, located in the Allgäu region of the Bavarian Alps. Wolfgang Loitzl (born 13 January 1980) is an Austrian former ski jumper. He was the winner of the 2008–09 Four Hills Tournament and the 2009 Normal Hill World Champion. Career He won seven medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships with seven golds (Individual normal hill: 2009, Team normal hill: 2001, 2005; Team large hill: 2005, 2007, 2009, 2013) and one bronze (Team large hill: 2001). He earned a bronze medal in the team event at the FIS Ski-Flying World Championships 2004 and finished 15th at the individual competition at those same championships. Loitzl has seven individual career victories from 1998 to 2003. Loitzl won the 2008–09 Four Hills Tournament. Severin Freund (born 11 May 1988) is a German former ski jumper and current TV expert. He competed at World Cup level from 2008 to 2022, and is one of the most successful ski jumpers from Germany, having won the overall World Cup title in 2015, and scoring 22 individual World Cup wins.
