Karjala Tournament
The Karjala Tournament ( fi, Karjala-turnaus), also known as Karjala Cup, is an annual ice hockey event held in Finland. The name comes from the sponsoring beer brand Karjala. History The tournament started in 1992 as the Sauna Cup. In 1995, the tournament was played as Christmas Cup at the same time as the Izvestija Trophy tournament, just before the Christmas holiday, causing Russia to send a reserve team to the Christmas Cup. In 1996, the tournament was moved to early November under the sponsorship of Karjala under the name Karjala Tournament. LG Hockey Games
The Beijer Hockey Games (BHG, formerly known as Sweden Hockey Games) is an annual ice hockey tournament held in Sweden and part of the Euro Hockey Tour. It was cancelled after the 2013–14 season. However, on 19 January 2016, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced the tournament to be restarted for the 2016–17 season. The tournament was also known as the LG Hockey Games between 2006 and 2011, and the Oddset Hockey Games between 2012 and 2014, while under sponsorship naming rights. The Channel One Cup (russian: Кубок Первого канала, formerly Izvestia Trophy) is an annual ice hockey event held in Russia under the auspices of Channel One. It is an open tournament typically composed of various national teams. History The tournament started in 1967 in Moscow in the Soviet Union. The first edition of the tournament was held in 1967, in honour of the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. It was the only time when the tournament was held in different cities at one time, namely in Moscow, Leningrad, and Voskresensk. Six teams participated in that tournament; two Soviet teams, two Czechoslovakian teams, a Canadian team, and a Polish team. Sweden and West Germany declined the invitation. Ceska Pojistovna Cup
The Czech Hockey Games, also sponsored as Carlson Hockey Games, is an annual ice hockey event held in Czech Republic. It is part of the Euro Hockey Tour. It was previously sponsored as the Pragobanka Cup, Kajotbet Hockey Games and the Česká Pojišťovna Cup History The tournament started in 1994 as the Pragobanka Cup. In 1998, it became sponsored by Česká pojišťovna. In 2012, the tournament name was changed for two seasons when Kajotbet took over the sponsoring. In 2017, it became the Carlson Hockey Games. The Sweden men's national ice hockey team ( sv, Sveriges herrlandslag i ishockey) is governed by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.
