2008 USA Cycling Professional Tour
The 2008 USA Cycling Professional Tour is the second year of this elite men's professional road bicycle racing series organized by USA Cycling. Levi Leipheimer (381 points) and the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team (810 points) are the 2007 USA Cycling Professional Tour, defending champion of the overall individual and team titles, respectively. Road Bicycle Racing
Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on Road surface, paved roads. Road racing is the most popular professional sport, professional form of bicycle racing, in terms of numbers of competitors, events and spectators. The two most common competition formats are mass start events, where riders start simultaneously (though sometimes with a Handicapping, handicap) and race to a set finish point; and time trials, where individual time trial, individual riders or team time trial, teams race a course alone against the clock. Lancaster Classic
The Tom Bamford Lancaster Classic was a professional road bicycle race held in late May or early June between 1992 and 2007 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. With the exception of the first race, which was , the Lancaster Classic covered about . Due to the "short, winding hills," it had a very low attrition rate, with 37% of starters finishing the race on average. 2003's 14% attrition was lower than that of the 2021 Tour de France, in which 23% of starters finished. The Rochester Twilight Criterium is an annual professional bicycle racing event on the National Criterium Calendar of USA Cycling. The event, a fast race on a short loop along downtown streets in Rochester, New York, started in 2004. Tinkoff () was a Russian-registered professional cycling team from Russia and previously Denmark. It competed in the UCI World Tour. The team was owned by Russian Oleg Tinkov and, from 1999 until March 2015, was managed by former Tour de France winner Bjarne Riis.
