2008 Swedish Open
The 2008 Swedish Open (also known as the ''Catella Swedish Open'' for sponsorship reasons) was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 61st edition of the Swedish Open, and was part of the International Series of the 2008 ATP Tour. It took place at the Båstad tennisstadion in Båstad, Sweden, from 7 July through 13 July 2008. The singles draw was headlined by new ATP No. 4, Valencia and 's-Hertogenbosch titlist and Båstad defending champion David Ferrer, Nottingham finalist Fernando Verdasco, and Warsaw runner-up and 2006 Båstad winner Tommy Robredo. Also present were Miami Masters semifinalist Tomáš Berdych, Costa do Sauípe runner-up and 2002 Båstad champion Carlos Moyá, Gaël Monfils, Jarkko Nieminen and Robin Söderling. ATP International Series
The ATP International Series (known from 1990 to 1997 as the ATP World Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally as part of the ATP Tour from 2000 to 2008. The series was renamed ATP Tour 250 in 2009. International Series offered players cash prizes (tournaments have purses from $416,000 to $1,000,000) and the ability to earn ATP ranking points. They generally offered less prize money and fewer points than the ATP International Series Gold, but more than tournaments on the ATP Challenger Series. The 2008 Nottingham Open (also known as the Slazenger Open for sponsorship reasons) was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor grass courts. It was the 19th edition of the Nottingham Open, and was part of the International Series of the 2008 ATP Tour. It took place at the Nottingham Tennis Centre in Nottingham, England, United Kingdom, from 16 June through 21 June 2008. The singles field was led by ATP No. 16, Rome Masters semifinalist and San Jose finalist Radek Štěpánek, Munich semifinalist Paul-Henri Mathieu, and Hamburg Masters quarterfinalist Fernando Verdasco. Jean-Julien Rojer
Jean-Julien Rojer (; ; born 25 August 1981) is a Dutch professional tennis player from Curaçao, who specialises in doubles. He reached his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 3 in November 2015. He is a four-time Grand Slam champion, having won 2015 Wimbledon and 2017 US Open with Horia Tecău, the 2022 French Open with Marcelo Arévalo in men's doubles, as well as the 2014 French Open in mixed doubles alongside Anna-Lena Grönefeld. By winning the 2022 French Open, Rojer became the oldest major men's doubles champion in the Open Era. Jarkko Kalervo Nieminen (born 23 July 1981) is a Finnish former professional tennis player. His highest ranking of world No. 13, achieved in July 2006, is a Finnish record. He has won two ATP singles titles and five doubles titles in his career. Carlos Moyá Llompart (; born 27 August 1976) is a Spanish former world No. 1 tennis player. He was the French Open singles champion in 1998 and was the singles runner-up at the 1997 Australian Open.
