2008 Brasil Open
The 2008 Brasil Open was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 8th edition of the Brasil Open, and was part of the International Series of the 2008 ATP Tour. It took place in Costa do Sauípe resort, Mata de São João, Brazil, from 11 February through 17 February 2008. The singles draw featured former World No. 1 and Chennai semifinalist Carlos Moyá, 2007 Cincinnati Masters quarterfinalist Nicolás Almagro, and 2007 Moscow and 2007 Metz quarterfinalist Igor Andreev. Also present were 2007 St. Petersburg quarterfinalist Potito Starace, 2007 Rome Masters semifinalist Filippo Volandri, Agustín Calleri, José Acasuso and Albert Montañés. ATP International Series
The ATP International Series (known from 1990 to 1997 as the ATP World Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally as part of the ATP Tour from 2000 to 2008. The series was renamed ATP Tour 250 in 2009. International Series offered players cash prizes (tournaments have purses from $416,000 to $1,000,000) and the ability to earn ATP ranking points. They generally offered less prize money and fewer points than the ATP International Series Gold, but more than tournaments on the ATP Challenger Series. 2007 Cincinnati Masters – Men's Singles
7 (seven) is the natural number following 6 and preceding 8. It is the only prime number preceding a cube. Albert Montañés
Albert Montañés Roca (; born 26 November 1980) is a retired professional tennis player from Spain. He first entered the top 100 in 2001. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 22 in 2010 and has won six singles titles and two doubles titles. Montañés is one of the very few players to win a title after saving match points in two different matches. He did it during his title run in Estoril 2009 in his quarter-finals and the final. He holds the record for most first-round exits at Grand Slam events; 35 reached at 2016 Wimbledon, beating Kenneth Carlsen's long standing record of 30 first-round exits. His career ended at the 2017 Barcelona Open. He was awarded a wild card to participate in the event and reached the second round, where he lost to fellow countryman Feliciano López 6–2, 6–2. José Acasuso
José Javier "Chucho" Acasuso (; born 20 October 1982) is a former professional male tennis player from Argentina. Like many of his fellow countrymen, he favoured clay. He was known for his strong serve and his hard groundstrokes off both sides. His clothes sponsor was Topper and his racquet sponsor Head. Career Acasuso began playing tennis at the age of two, when his father took his brother and sister to his grandfather's tennis club. Reportedly, he got the nickname of "Chucho" from the fact that, when he was a child, he used to say his name was "José Acachucho." Acasuso played both basketball and tennis up until the age of 12, and then gave up basketball for tennis. Like Carlos Moyà, Acasuso is a natural left-hander, but plays tennis right-handed. Agustín Calleri (, ; born 14 September 1976) is a retired professional male tennis player from Argentina. His nickname is ''Gordo'' which means ''Fat'' in Spanish. He is known as a hard-hitter and he prefers playing on clay. Calleri served as a member of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies from 2016 to 2017, as part of the United for a New Alternative alliance. Career Born in Río Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina, he picked up first ATP win in 1999 over Jan Vacek at Roland Garros. Also advanced to first quarter-final at Umag. Volandri is a right-handed player who reached a career-high singles ranking of world no. 25 in July 2007. He turned professional in 1997 and has earned almost $4,000,000 in prize money. Potito Starace
Potito Starace (; born 14 July 1981) is an Italian retired professional tennis player on the ATP Tour. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of world no. 27 on October 15, 2007. He was a clay court specialist, and was coached by Umberto Rianna. Starace was banned from tennis for life by the Italian Tennis Federation and by the Tennis Integrity Unit for betting offences. Career One of the most memorable runs of Starace's career was when he made the men's doubles semifinals of the 2012 French Open, partnering Daniele Bracciali, before succumbing to top seeds Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi. Igor Valeryevich Andreev (russian: link=no, И́горь Вале́рьевич Андре́ев, BGN/PCGN: ''Andreyev'', ISO 9: ''Andreev'', ; born 14 July 1983) is a Russian former professional tennis player.
