The 2008 Kerry Senior Hurling Championship was the 107th staging of the Kerry Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Kerry County Board in 1889. The competition ran from 1 August to 19 October 2008. Lixnaw entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Causeway A causeway is a track, road or railway on the upper point of an embankment across "a low, or wet place, or piece of water". The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 25 March 2004. The championship ran from 16 July to 5 October 2004. Kilmoyley were the defending champions. Michael Slattery (hurler)
Michael "Boxer" Slattery is a hurler from County Kerry in Ireland. He has played with Ballyheigue and the Kerry senior team. Club career Slattery has won 3 County Senior Championships with Ballyheigue in 1996,1997 and 2000 when he was captain. He has also won a number of North Kerry League and Championship medals with Ballyheigue. He also won four u-21 championships and a county minor medal with his club. Intercounty career Slattery was a member of the Kerry Senior team for a number of years and was captain of the team that won the NHL Div 2 title in 2001 when Kerry beat Westmeath on a score line of 4-14 to 3-10 at Croke Park Slattery scoring 1-10 of his sides total. Shane Brick
Shane Brick (born ) is a hurler from County Kerry, Ireland. He has played with the Kerry intercounty team, and originally played his club hurling with Kilmoyley. He won six Kerry Senior Hurling Championship medals with Kilmoyley. In 2014, he switched to the southeast of Cork to play with Tracton GAA. He retired from playing in 2016, and joined the management team with Douglas GAA in 2019. Inter-county career With the Kerry county hurling team, he won National Hurling League Div 2 (2001) and Div 3A (2010) titles. He was also part of the Kerry team that made the 2010 final of the Christy Ring Cup, which was won by Westmeath. He missed the following years win with an injury, before returning in 2012. Ballyheigue GAA is a hurling and gaelic football club in north County Kerry, Ireland. The club competes at all levels of hurling at county and North Kerry and also plays some underage football as well as competing in the county junior football league and the county novice football shield. History The club was founded in 1892. The field, which is named after John Joe O'Sullivan, was purchased in the 1950s. Club rooms were later built in 1974.
