2008 Global Champions Tour
The 2008 Global Champions Tour was the 3rd edition of the Global Champions Tour (GCT), an important international show jumping competition series. The 2008 Global Champions Tour was the first edition of the Global Champions Tour as official series of the FEI. The series is held mainly in Europe, one competition and also the final are held outside of Europe. All competitions are endowed with 300000 €. All GCT events were held as CSI 5*. The competitions was held between April 10, 2008 and September 14, 2008. The final was held in São Paulo, Brazil from October 15, 2008 to October 19, 2008. The champion of the Global Champions Tour Final of this year is Jessica Kürten of Ireland on ''Libertina''. Global Champions Tour
The Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) is an annual pre-eminent individual show jumping series that comprises up to 15 rounds of competition hosted around the world. It brings together the top 30 riders in the FEI Jumping World Rankings. It was founded in 2006 by the Olympic gold medalist Jan Tops. Member of the Monaco royal family Charlotte Casiraghi is Honorary President of the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo leg of the tour and regular high-profile competitors include Athina Onassis, Georgina Bloomberg (who also owns a team which competes in the Global Champions League), Jessica Springsteen, Sofia Abramovich, Guillaume Canet and Jennifer Gates. Albert Zoer
Albert Zoer (born 31 July 1975, in Echten, Drenthe) is a Dutch champion in show jumping. He owns his own business, called Zoer B.V., for breeding and training stallions, a venture with which his father, Arent Zoer, helps him. Background With two older sisters, Jenny and Gina, Zoer grew up on the farm in Echten which his father purchased in the year before his birth. This farm initially had only five stables, but from the time Zoer and his sisters were all riding horses, that number gradually increased to twenty and more. He began show jumping since the age of seven and he declares that his passion, or addiction to riding horses made him dislike having to go to school. Valkenswaard
Valkenswaard () is a municipality and a town in the southern Netherlands, in the Metropoolregio Eindhoven of the province of North Brabant. Nick Skelton
Nicholas David Skelton (born 30 December 1957, Bedworth, Warwickshire) is a British former equestrian who competed in show jumping. He retired at the age of 59 years old, on 5 April 2017. He began riding at age 18 months and in 1975 took two team silvers and an individual gold at the Junior European Championships. He has competed numerous times at the European Show Jumping Championships, winning three golds, three silvers and three bronzes both individually and with the British team over 26 years. In 1980, he competed in the Alternative Olympics, where he helped the British team to a silver medal. He currently holds the British show jumping high jump record, which he set in 1978. Marcus Ehning
Marcus Ehning (born 19 April 1974 in Südlohn, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German show jumping champion, Olympic champion from 2000. He is married to Nadia Ehning (née Zülow). He won the Longines Global Champions Tour of Vienna Grand Prix on Plot Blue in September 2014. Horses Marcus Ehning joined the equestrian world when he was 7 years old. His firsts horses, which let him learn and take confidence in low and medium level shows, were Lord, Metal, Starlight, Queen and Bright Ruby. Then he started obtaining great results in higher level competitions mostly thanks to Orchidee, Opium and Talan.
