Demir Demirev ( bg, Демир Демирев, born 31 August 1984) is a Bulgarian weightlifter. He is of Turkish ethnicity. He participated in the men's -69 kg class at the 2006 World Weightlifting Championships and won the bronze medal, finishing behind Vencelas Dabaya and Shi Zhiyong. He snatched 143 kg and clean and jerked an additional 175 kg for a total of 318 kg, 14 kg behind winner Dabaya. Edgar Gevorgyan ( hy, Էդգար Գևորգյան, born May 21, 1982 in Vanadzor, Armenian SSR) is an Armenian weightlifter. He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the men's 85 kg division. Szymon Piotr Kołecki (; born 12 October 1981) is a Polish former Olympic Champion weightlifter and current mixed martial artist. He was the silver medalist at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and a gold medalist at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, both in the 94 kg categories. Oleg Perepetchenov (born September 6, 1975) is a Russian powerlifter and former weightlifter. In the 2001 and 2002 World Weightlifting Championships, Perepetchenov won the silver medal in the Men's 77 kg weight category. Perepetchenov competed in the Men's 77 kg at the 2004 Summer Olympics and won the bronze medal, lifting 365.0 kg in total. Biography Ara Khachatryan was born on September 13, 1982, in Leninakan, Armenian SSR (now Gyumri, Armenia), a city well known for its weightlifters. Under personal trainer Alexan Karapetyan and coach Boghos Poghosyan, Ara began weight training from an early age.
